Annoying thing is Aspas is tearing up La Liga last couple years and Alberto has become one of Lazio's star players as they sit 3rd in the league. Some leagues and styles just don't suit unfortunately.

    we sit here today...

our lb target that Jimmy keeps on about went to Chelsea for <20mil

Moura goes to spurs for 25

mahrez will try push his way to city for 60

    auba goes to arsenal.

Chelsea get giroud which is crazy

    Utd get Sanchez

    arsenal.get Mkhitaryan

one can only hope moura is as good for spurs as renato Sanchez has been for Swansea <laugh>

no there's nobody available in January lads.

Or some clubs don’t give players enough of a chance to adapt.

Interesting to see how Emerson gets on at Chelsea. He was the Number 1 LB target for us but the ACL injury made him very risky.

    never making it.

whats actually happening is at at the lower level games he is having a good season. Las palmas, deportivo, betis, bilbao etc.. he did giet a goal v barca though.

great for him like but there you go. he fits in nicely as the big fish in a tiny pond as he made little impact at seville at all.

I'd say players often make the step up too soon. I always thought Alberto had something when I saw him play but he wasn't able to preform for whatever reason. Same goes for Suso too.

Obviously, Aspas was older so he simply didn't suit the league or is, maybe both.

he was physically weak and unwilling to adapt. he ran out as fast as he could.

    I agree on age.

    3 things.

Language. You must commit to learn the language and integrate into the country. Look a coutinho 5 years on.. no english. Look at firmino... look at moreno. it does show.

Physical requirements: If you are slight don't go to england. its a fast paced game with lots of sprinting and contact in terms of pushing and shoving. look at salah. he is well able for it.

Fight. You got signed, presumably cos the current manager wants you. you still have to earn a place. If you turn tail and hop the next flight on loan to Spain then it says you've no fight

Alberto was never going to work.

    You are right about age.

I wish players would at least try to learn a little English, but foreign languages are just too difficult for some. I'm not sure how you think it really matters though?
Coutinho was here for 5 years and only ran because Barca tickled his ego, and Firmino is doing fine whilst restricting his mouthing off to Portuguese.
Moreno could talk like Noel Coward and it wouldn't improve his game.

It matters in three ways for me.

    1. you need to be able to communicate and understand your teammates on the park and the manager. If you've only 2 or 3 signal words opponents can shout them at wrong time etc.

    2. you need to be able to go do press and then milk the image rights etc.

    3. you need to be able to integrate in the dressing room. not have cliques. Its a well know thing that the foreign players don't invite english players to personal events as LFC players. they have little groups.... little effort is made to be a full team.

You are right on moreno. but being able to actually talk to VVD would help no?

Petr Cech has passed his "use by" date. Arsenal needs a keeper next season. Simon Mignolet is available.

Moura passes Tottenham medical and aubergine is going to Arsenal. Giroud looks to be going to Chelsea and they’ve also signed Emerson. And city, well they’ve been spending a **** tonne and look to be getting mahrez too.

    Whilst we do nothing.

aspas is tearing it up. He's smashing it with Celta Vigo he surprisingly play in a klopp like manner. High intensity, high speed and fluid interplay

true but 17m for him is a bargain if he is as good as you say he is.

    That's a risk worth taking
