Yeah I'm too young for that unfortunately but there's been a huge difference even in the past ten years imo. St Marys is largely a shocking atmosphere now bar the odd game. It's why I've focused on mainly away games this year and also why I won't be all that bothered if we go down.
One of the best old grounds was Upton Park. You were literally right up against the pitch and everybody who went to West Ham wanted to give their fans ****, so it meant for a big atmosphere. Even in what was a relatively small ground.
Not sure if Luiz will be that much of an improvement to you. If hes on his game he'll be great and he's a great character and leader. However he's had a long term niggling problem i think since aguero crocked him last year (always plays with loads of strapping) and he hasn't been covering the ground with the same intensity as he used to (not sure if thats because of injury or he's protesting against conte).
surprised no one took a look at Musa. Direct striker with wildcard finishing and dribbling but speed of usain bolt. I'd have taken a punt
Fair play Was a great season to be fair. Fairytale stuff (apart from when you played us). Funny as **** seeing the Spuds come 3rd in a 2 horse race, especially after Harold Kane's infamous 'we're coming to get you' **** up
yes chambo is ****, so is holding and both their ball distribution is questionable. However Koscielny has been back and mustafi and you've moved to a back 4 again. If 3 then Monreal seas the deal. You need a long term replacement for Kos and Luiz is 30, nearly 31. Luiz isn't that commanding CB, hes cool in a 3 imo, but you guys lack discipline in your 2 dms let alone if luiz goes for a wonder
Chambers and Holding aren't ****e, but they are young and inexperienced. They could both come good, but we need some experience in there. Kos is back, but he's injury prone and Mustafi is decent without being great. Monreal is a superb LB, but as mentioned we could use Luiz as either a CB or a DM. At the moment we are using ****ing Elneny as a DM and he is proper ****e.
i don't think Elneny is actually that bad. doesn't have a creative bone in his body but if he keeps it simple, hes pretty decent. Physical, has loads of energy and pretty strong. Chambers is terrible, he'll never make it as a top 4 defender. He'll always be a middle to lower relegation defender and in my books thats a terrible defender (relative to the top clubs). Holding will at most make it as a shawcross type defender. Whether you think thats good or bad you decide, but that isn't big club material
I'd put Elneny in the same bracket at Holding and Chambers to be honest. Okay, without being anything special. They'd all probably suit a mid table team, but not good enough for the top level at Arsenal. That said I'd keep Holding as he's shown some promise, Chambers less so for me and Elneny I would ship out as soon as we got somebody like Luiz in.
I was around 15/16 at the time and I don't think pubs back then really gave a ****, as long as they were selling beer. Especially in a crowded match day pub. Obviously these days, landlords can lose their licence in an instant if they are caught selling alcohol to underage people, but that wasn't the case so much back then.
Best I've seen at the old Wembley (apart from the greatest ever FA Cup final in 73 ) was Springsteen.
