Good Morning Everyone Caleb Ebukan is 2 weeks away from returning from injury. Christiansen said: “In 10 to 14 days he will be back. “He was playing well until he got injured and I believe I can expect the same from him.” Obviously this is when the 23 year old will return from training, so we can expect to see him playing in a month. Leeds fans are being encouraged to send their designs for a new club crest to: [email protected] A small shortlist of refined designs will be chosen by fan panels and then go to a democratic vote amongst all our Season Ticket Holders and Members on Wednesday 21st February, with our new crest announced by the end of the month. I don't get the excitement about Nigerian striker Jerry Mbakogu. He plays for Serie B side Carpi. In 92 appearances, he has scored 28 goals. Now, compare this to Antenucci. Since he joined SPAL, he has scored 24 goals in 51 appearances, and they are (now) playing in Serie A.
Good Morning to Matt and co from a dull Bardsey So with 2 days left it looks like we have thrown in the towel for this season hoping that Lassonga stays fit and keeps scoring Afobe looked the part but he looks like he is going to Wolves Fail to understand why we are after a second rate Nigerian who plays in the second tier in Italy Arsenals 3 choice goalkeeper is coming to replace Lonegren who has been sold to Sunderland for 2 packets of crisps and a white cat as they think black cats are unlucky!
Morning all, very disappointed with the striker situation but not good splashing the cash on anyone who isn’t going to be better than what we already have... Maybe Rads has started to question some of the quality (or lack) being found by Orta and wants more assurances from Orta that the next one in is going to deliver..
Totally agree on the Nigerian, wouldnt mind if he was an International but we wont even know his real age. I going to put Ekuban in this category too as both similar type players but from 2014 to 2016 he played 79 games and only scored 11 goals. Thats garbage and it was in Seria B, so one goal every 7 games???? The season of 16/17 however he played 34 games scoring 17 goals, which is stunning but in Seria B again but a goal every other game not to be sniffed at. My problem is that he started well gets injured, out for 2 months, comes back looks good without delivering then injured again and out for another couple of months. We deserve better and if its actually true that we are signing the Nigerian we really need to ask what sort of logic Orta uses.
With Sturridge going to West Brom I wonder if there's now a deal to be done for Roberts? He's 19yo had a couple of seasons out on loan without being prolific but is very highly thought of by Pardew who has brought him back from loan. Contract ends this summer but Pardew wants him to sign a new deal, even though Turin, Marseille and many other clubs are chasing him, including Leeds. he wants game time but with Sturridge arriving Roberts has no chance. Maybe a new contract with WBA and a loan to Leeds might work, or a £5m bid may get him. BUT YET AGAIN TOP CASH FOR A KID WITH NO RECORD> January strikers have to deliver
We are buying a striker so we need a striker who scores goals. This guy doesnt score that many, is that all right with you?
Neither did wood when we signed him,Italian football is stronger defensive wise and less goals are scored over their.
surely Marriot is a better gamble than Roberts and we have according to the latest news bid £8m for Hughill but now Crystal P have counter bid so we waited too long perhaps it was an Hill too many
I suggest you go check because you will find there are 10 players who have hit double figures in fewer matches than we have played. You will also see that this bloke isnt on the list of the top 25 scorers in Seria B and there are players who have scored as many as Marriot in League 1 and many more goals per player in than in the Championship. I looked at the last time we brought in a strikers that nobody had heard of because he was in an obscure league 2 below our league. jimmy Floyd from Boavista. But we had checked his stats and everywhere hed been he was averaging a goal every other game except from early days. He went on to average a goal every 1.8 games. Thats a striker with good stats before we bought. Ekuban had years of failure but the season before we bought him he was averaging 1 in 2 so worth a gamble but the NigeriN has the worst stats for a striker we have ever been linked with 1 in 5 games is crap. Other obscure plYers we had never heard of Yeboah a goal every 2 games and thats after playing over 400 games, Jimmy Floyd had almost 400 games too. phil Massinga a goal every 1.5 games
