If it means getting Auba, then i don't think we have much choice. In my opinion it shouldn't be the case as we should have the financial muscle to keep him, but it's all down to what the management think.
Depends if Wenger intends to go back to 2 upfront (3-5-2, 4-4-2 or 4-3-1-2) Then he would still get plenty of games.
If we signed Auba, Mikhitarian and some young talent like Malcolm you dont think he'd be tempted to re-sign?
I honestly think Giroud is the most underrated player in the premier league. I don't think we should sell to Chelsea but £35m for a 31 year old is a pretty good price... anyone else think Spurs are getting themselves a good deal with Lucas? If it really is the numbers mentioned (£20m) that's a snip IMO...
I agree, Giroud has been consistently very good in the Prem. In my opinion, he might have done a bit better in another type of team. Not saying that we gave him poor service, but we aren't the most direct team at times and that would be something he would thrive in more.
Yeah I hope we keep Giroud, but I reckon he'll be off with Aubameyang coming in. If Chelsea give us £35m for him then we should snap their fingers off really. Personally I think we're well stocked for forwards now, so I'd like to see the money spent on a defender. And yes. The spuds getting Moura for £25m is a bargain. He went to PSG for £33m a couple of years ago. Decent signing that. Would have liked to have seen him at Arsenal, but I guess there wasn't really room for him.
Dont want wanna see us strengthening another rival. We got stop selling players to the teams above and around us. Also I like Giroud and wouldn't like to see him playing for the Chavs. However some reports are saying a swap for David Luiz. Personally would be interested in that.
Yes I'd be up for that. I think this team needs a couple of characters. Luiz and Aubameyang would be two really good additions and with Mkhitaryan too, we'll have added some vital experience to this team too.
Regarding a defender. I want to see us get somebody in, but I do not want Johnny Evans. He is not good enough for Arsenal and we should be concentrating elsewhere. I would be up for a swap deal with Giroud/Luiz. He's the sort of player we should be looking at. Okay he's not perfect but he is a quality defender with tons of ability and loads of experience.
I know people will say we have to do it to get aubey but still being played for that amount of money. Plus loosing our plan B! Attack the box.
I understand that Giroud wants to play, especially in a world cup year in which it will be his last major tournament. But I think this is a case of putting the club's needs before the individual player's. We've been too lenient in the past meeting the player's needs over and above the club's
Totally agree and to our detriment as well. When Auba comes in we will end up with 4 strikers, a bit overkill considering one is going to be a regular (Auba) and the rest will have to share the second spot. Then again, how will Wenger fit in Mkhi, Ozil and the rest. Our midfield is a problem, trying to fit in all our attacking players, because the midfielders want to attack too!
very typical wenger this. Admittedly your attack hasn't been very fluid but you guys are top heavy again and your marauding DM has still not been resolved or a commanding CB
