West Brom stand between us and the quarter finals of the FA Cup. Sounds rather good when you put it like that.
If anyone says "it's the FA Cup, anything can happen" I'll give them a slap. All the top sides bar Arsenal have taken it seriously. First step is not to lose at WBA, get ourselves in the hat and see what happens. I'm quite pleased we're away rather than at home.
50 years ago Saints played West Brom in the cup, held them at the Hawthorns but lost the replay. West Brom went on to win the cup. If SFC's name is not on the cup, how about WBA's? It would be good for them to win it rather than City, United or Chelsea. Leicester are also having a dream route through the competition so don't be surprised to see them in a semis at least. I thought one of the matches could have involved City v United or Chelsea. No such luck.
I don’t think it should be either. I never find an all mid table PL tie exciting for the Cup. I like it when they show a game with a bit of real Cup feel to it. Millwall/Rochdale v Spuds Wigan v City
I know what you mean, so often the BBC or BT choose matches where the big clubs are likely to win easily, just so they get more viewers. On the other hand, giant killing is what the Cup is all about, and that’s good for the viewing figures too.
