And Utd fans wouldn't "go on about" winning it 5 times if it became possible for them to, it is rather a big thing amongst English clubs to win 1, 2 or even 3.:emoticon-0100-smile

I can tell you without googling that we were the first British/English club to reach the semi-final 2 years before Glasgow Celtic's magnificent win in the Lisbon final against the team that knocked us out.:emoticon-0105-wink:

    just a quick note

    cardiff player.

"Just want to apologise to Leroy Sane for my tackle today," he said. "I tried to stop the counter-attack and completely mistimed my attempt.

"I didn't mean to catch him like I did. I hope it's nothing serious and he recovers quickly."

If you actually look at it he is in straight legged, studs fully showing. thats is not mistiming anything so this "statement" is meant to purely try avoid a 3 match ban. no chance mate.

Its a poor challenge, not just mistimes it's reckless and the body shape is all about maximum damage.

Well for a long time certain supporters of clubs mocked Wenger for getting CL and nothing else.

Now CL appear to be the new trophy.

I did find the German FF tweet about injuries to their national team players funny. See what the reaction is to this any time a German tackles an international teams player who are involved in the WC

that was bloody silly. it was also insulting to cardiff.

The fact is thats what championship sides are let away with.

they guy ended up sent off for something else so for me he was left on after missing a horror challenge that ahem Gaurdiola should have called for a review on to get that guy off the park.

Its a ****ing free game. why are you diving in like that....

At 100mph it’s not always clear.

I have only seen the slowed down horror angle. Not certain what the ref saw.

yes that's fair, who knows what the ref saw.

We we can saw however if that's how he tackles normally and its "just mistimed" then he's a danger to everyone.

Oh the absurd arrogance of supporters of a successful team. :)
Tell that to the millions of supporters worldwide who passionately follow a team that never has a serious chance of winning a trophy.
You know - those that love football for the game and aren't in it just for bragging rights?

yeah but they do all try to win each game. nobody turns up to lose each game they play.

Being complete ****e doesn't mean they don't try to win the next game.

Being in the **** and hoping to lose by less than the 3-0 walk over score line is no fun :)

Whether you are in league one or non league you still try and do better than last year and push up whatever table you have. When you are not doing that you are really in the doldrums like sunderland, portsmouth and many clubs we have seen spiralling down.

Our fabulous plymouth lads were so chuffed to get a result v us last year, they wanted to try and get promotion. It was a bonus to play us but they gave it all they had

they finished 2nd and got their promotion and are now safely midtable in league one and I hope dreaming of promotion as they develop more again.

all they did was get a 0-0 but they gave their all and took us to a replay. they had a full house in the away end and a massive trip to get here. we rewarded them with woodbrun, ojo and origi up top and stewart at CM.

Anyway. As i said all year, All I thought we were good for was group stage, FA cup run and maybe 5th or 6th.

We Got a terrible league cup draw so i wrote that off totally. (on gorunds we couldn't play CL due to squad size as well)
We got a dolly of a CL draw so i revised by hopes to last 16. we got it as the group was that easy.
We got two home games but prem teams in FA cup. I hoped for a decent cup run as it gives SOMETHING to look forward too in march and april.
We have got same points now as last year in league so 4th is on but competitive so my 5th or 6th could still be the best we do. We certainly wont be getting 2nd or 3rd.

Now while some say meh to the FA cup I bet they would be first in line on SF day hoping for a final if we were still in there. Nobody says a well it was only a SF and a chance at glory if we lose in a SF. 4th is more important? I think not. thats just me.

Right now we are looking at a Last 16 draw a decent side should hope to get past..... away to porto is not something i am looking forward to. we could do anything. the mentality is so weak. Yet some will come on and say hang on if we believe we can do anything... right after saying the fa cup doesn't matter anyway <laugh>

After that comp we will be looking at yet another grind it out nothing end to a season where there's just 4th place on the line and grinding results out while others look to glory.

    I am not pleased.

Well that’s just unfortunate. Now you can spend time with fans who talk about when they won trophies......so the only difference is shirt colour.

It can't have escaped your notice that I continually bang on about good football and entertainment being more important than just winning at any cost?
    It's why I genuinely dislike Mourinho's type of game - it's not a rivalry issue, it's a footballing one.

The FA cup has been destroyed by the FA who have changed every single tradition of the competition, except for keeping the same prize money as 20 years ago.

The winner of the FA cup get £1.8m. The winner of the League Cup gets £100,000.

The FA cup and League Cup are just PL teams offering charity games to lower league teams who the money matters to. That's fine but if, e.g., City lose £37m Sane to some donkey challenge for it then it's a joke.

    Don’t enter a team. Don’t play £37m players.

Don’t train because people get injured in training.

you can only win trophies by winning games.

try to win and see where it get you.

I've been pretty clear since about 10mins into the west brom game that our heads were elsewhere.

Why does the prize money matter ffs?

We play domestically for 3 competitions and the FA Cup is definitely still prestigious

You sound like a bitter man cry arseing about being dumped out to me, if you’d have won on Saturday I suggest that your tone would be markedly different

thats not quite true in terms of numbers but anyway.....

nobody has explained why so many of the last 5/6 years cups have gone to top 4 teams.... aside from wigan and swnasea wins the trophies are in the big boys back pocket.

You have to wonder why so many big teams don't get this don't try the league is all thats important mentality.

even more interesting is the fact that some big clubs win both league and league cup suggesting its absolutely no harm to them at all to compete.

2013–14 Manchester City also won league cup
2014–15 Chelsea also won league cup
2015–16 Leicester City . league cup won by city.
    2016–17 Chelsea won by utd.

Perhaps when the dust is settled on this whole sorry affair some small voices might pipe up and say that when a team has the squad to win the league it also has the squad to play the cups and use them to keep the whole team working well.

big team win things. small teams focus on 4th <ok>
