I was there this morning. Yes it’s been fenced off with some bog standard Heras fencing that’s got a gap in it to walk through. There were probably 20 people inside the fence while I was there - young, old, families taking pictures of their kids in front of it etc. No complaints from me, but the fence certainly isn’t ‘protecting’ it
Well, unlike our famously unmanned secure gate, two rozzers arrived while I was there leading to several people buggering off sharpish, but they’d only come to have a look for themselves and weren’t moving anyone on or asking them to come out of the fenced area.
Im pretty sure the bridge has been fenced off for a while....ie before the work was done. It was in the first photos I saw online when the Banksy speculation started, well before it was confirmed his. TBH I’d have thought the council would have taken it all away as, like has been said, it looks weak/shabby. Certainly not doing a job.
Images now cropping up of the artwork online. Sadly someone has totally vandalised it and has ruined it. This is why we can’t have nice things in hull...
Curse the stupid council for having a spray can and using it, or not. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
There really are some brainless twats around these days, defacing this really is a ****ish thing to do.
Must remember the old 'It's art your Honour ' next time I'm caught spraying 'Agro, Agro let them have it' or similar on that walkway bridge to the ground from Argyle st.,,,,
You're ****ting me , right? He sprays walls with witty comments and pictures using a stencil. Genius. No, really, he is!
