Players don't give a sh!t about cups other than titles and Europe. Money is probably factor number one, but im sure the likes of Sanchez doesn't give a sh!t about the FA cups at Arsenal. He wants to be earning big money and playing in the champions league.

Southampton could have won the league cup last year, I bet Van Dijk would still want to leave to a club in the champions league.

The league cup and FA cup have much more importance to lower league clubs and teams who aren't competing near the top.

a classic mid season he doesn't fit debut.

subbed off at 0-1 then once gone Suarez and Messi score to win 2-1.

Alves are down bottom half aren't they?

someone should do a Barca are better without him than with him stat.

Was stuck out on the RW for all the first half and barely touched the ball. I think it's something Barca do, put attacking players out wide for a few games to watch the way the team play and interact and get used to the patterns.

explain why sf of league cup had 3 or top 6 and a top 6 clash in final.

why the prior winners of league cup in last 6 years are:
    Utd
    city
    Chelsea
    city
    swansea
    Liverpool

    and fa cup is

    arsenal
    Utd
    arsenal
    arsenal
    Wigan beat city
    chelsea

seems to me big sides like winning cups even given the one or two shocks.

seems to me the pain of not winning is being buried under it doesn't matter anyway type commentry.

sorry lads. .. big teams demand big results every game, cup, league or cl.

    Yep

From what I have seen it's Barca's way of introducing a player to their style/game. They stuck Suarez out wide right for about 6 games and Messi/Naymar virtually ignored him, then suddenly he was played around the box and fit right in as if he had been there years. Can't fault a system that obviously works.

    I would.
You don't speak for us all. I'd rather we were genuine competitors for the PL than winners of either of the domestic cups.
I still think the latter should be taken seriously, but I'd be seriously pissed off if we won either of them but slipped out of the top 4 by the end of the season.

Exactly. Wenger has won two on the bounce and he's viewed as a joke manager and Arsenal are viewed as a bottling club despite winning it twice in the last 2 seasons. That's because he's been **** where it matters, in the PL & CL.

That is because he has had the players capable of doing more, imagine if he hadn't won the FA Cup and still been **** in the PL and CL.
If you are not good enough to win the PL or CL surely another trophy is better than 4th?
Would you tell young future supporters about the trophies you have won or would you tell them how many times you have qualified for the CL to impress them?

So, when we're lining up for the CL in a couple of weeks, how many fans are going to think "I wish we'd won a cup last year and were in the Europey instead"?
Rightly or wrongly, if a team wants to get to or stay at the top and attract better players, they have to have CL involvement.

Yeah, I have said it before but here we go. Do you seriously think a player will commit the next 4/5 years of his life to a team just because they are in the CL next season?
It's a great excuse for players who want to get out of a team "I want to play CL football", it goes down better with the supporters they are leaving than "this team is **** or I want more money" <ok>

Arsenal have won the FA cup twice and their two best players want out (one has already left).

Far more likely than them going to a domestic cup winner.
