So the internet hate mob decides Malcom should be the focus of their latest Two Minutes Hate (with The Sun devoting an entire article to it) and everyone happily follows along with it. Here's a quick question for people saying that we shouldn't sign him based on one dive: how much did you hate Klinsmann and Ginola signing for the club? please log in to view this image
With Klinsmann, I dreaded we were going to get Italia 90 week in week out, and the media aggro that would go with it. That it never came to that begged the question WTF did he pull those antics throughout his prior career (slightly rhetorical) . So getting back to it for me ... hence my question as to whether the kid has form on what happened or not.
I haven't dug anything up from r/soccer, while Google was simply depressing as it was four pages of "Spurs target Malcom DIVES" from our supporters at The Sun and Daily Mail. There is one Independent article that mentions a win-at-all-costs mentality, but rather than being the usual byword for diving and cynical fouls it actually refers to him giving half-time team talks at Corinthians. About the only other thing I could pick up were a few comments about a game against Lille earlier this season where people praised him for staying on his feet when a Lille defender tried to scythe him down with a two-footed lunge - and when that didn't work, that same defender simply booted him in the head.
Me...shows how bad I am at judging anything football wise...I also thought we we a bit knee jerk sacking Gross and Ramos and so RCL was born
There's whispers of a KWP loan to Southampton. Then again, last month there were whispers of a KWP loan to Swansea. Feign surprise if there's whispers of a KWP loan to Stoke...
Sturridge to WBA is being suggested maybe we should be considering a bid for Jay Rodriguez a player Poch knows well and who now that he is fully fit would be a good fit for us.
I think we'll get Moura over the line. The commotion over the weekend was clearly designed to kick up the dust a bit and draw the attention of bigger, wealthier fish than ourselves. Doesn't look like any are biting. United got Sanchez, Chelsea got Barkley, Arsenal got Mkhitaryan and looks like Aubameyang too and City and Pool are shelling out on defenders. It is extremely rare that talks with Levy will get to this stage without pen and paper meeting. Willian remains the only transfer to have gotten even further and still not happened. My take is that right now Levy isn't blinking and is waiting patiently for deadline day to save the reported £4m he's been quibbling over. If someone else bids I reckon he'll up the bid but he loves a good high-stakes flutter does our Daniel.
The Aubameyang sale is said to be provisional upon Dortmund finding a replacement. There've been rumours that Dortmund could be interested in.......Lucas Moura. What's Levy up to?
No way are the bigwigs at Dortmund that stupid. Aubameyang has averaged 25+ goals for the past 4 seasons. No way can Moura replace that. One for the hack watch. I wonder if they'd be interested in Llorente?
I take your point but Aubameyang can run fast and put the ball in the net. Moura can do at least one of those very well. Llorente? I'll get back to you on that one.
I don't get why they're supposedly interested in a winger to replace a striker, when they've already got plenty of wingers. Yarmalenko, Reus (albeit crocked), Pulisic, Philip, Sancho and they apparently want rid of Schurrle because he's not getting enough games. Surely they'll want a like-for-like replacement? Might be PSG creating competition that's just not there.
