That is good, because he very rarely comments on that
in public in match stuff with the media (so he is obviously
angry about the performance) . However the question is
whether the team got the hairdryer treatment at any time
    after KO time.

I'm more concerned about the comments he made about Sissoko in an interview with ESPN last week. Worrying.

Just so we've got this straight: in signing Llorente we have simultaneously brought in a striker who has apparently forgotten how to striker, yet at the same time ****ed up Swansea?

    How does that make sense?

Maybe yesterday will be the wake up call some of these players need.
Dier (imo) has believed his own hype and has been really poor a lot of this season.
Dembele has only played 2 decent games since his return from injury.
Trippier has let himself down badly since the Madid match.
Llorente needs to understand that he has been shocking EVERY time he has played for us in domestic games.
Wanyama and Lamela have been out for s while so I will not be too harsh on them but they have not come back well in my view.
Foryth was terrible in the first half and does not look ready for first team football.
    Sissoko simply makes me sad

In hindsight I now wish I picked a full first team after that display, Vorm aside, the team were poor.

But as pissed as I am with our performance, this IS the FA Cup and ultimately Newport County, a team who sit 9th in League 2, had spells in which they outplayed us and I think a lot of credit has to go to them. It's frustrating that we'll have to play an extra fixture in what is already going to be a congested period but it's nothing less than Newport deserve in fairness.

Back to us, as I said with Vorm aside, those that are the on the fringes or not always starting games, will have no one else to blame but themselves if they continue being on the fringes because they done sod all to convince Poch/ the fans that they should be worthy of a first team place at the moment.

Not sure why Poch switched the formation as well, we didn't have the right players to play it.

Bad day at the office for us but credit to Newport.

Agree with all of that bar the Dier bit. At CB he's been below par but I think at DM he's not done much wrong and looked really good at times.

Well, that was ****, wasn't it?
Five at the back, no creativity in midfield and Kane and Llorente up front against Newport? Really?
There were a lot of **** individual performances, but I think that this one's on Pochettino.

If Eriksen and Winks are missing then we've basically got nobody keeping the midfield ticking over.
Our squad depth simply isn't there and we need to pick up at least a couple of signings in the next few days to sort it out.
A Modric-type would be perfect, but it doesn't look like there's one even being speculated about, unfortunately.

I think Newport played above themselves and we certainly allowed ourselves to be dragged down way below our usual levels and I will give Newport credit for that. However a draw was the minimum that we deserved we controlled the match in the 2nd half (which I know we should) but they were also assisted by some very generous refereeing, even the BBC in their fairly biased summary on the highlights programme suggested that Newport captain (and the MOTM) was lucky to not be sent off, the pull back on Dembele is a yellow card in any match (except yesterdays) and whilst we shouldn't have to rely on them losing players the match should be officiated correctly and I feel that we would have progressed if they had played the last 30 mins a man short.

  12. What that game proved to me is just how much Kane relies upon top midfielders to get the ball to him.

God help us if we lose Alli, Son and Eriksen!

  13. It's something I can never grasp.

Every single team that plays us shows us the respect to come at us from the very first kick of the ball, and raise their game to levels that they never seem to be able to reach when playing other sides, yet Poch and the lads seem to be oblivious to it!

It happens all the time, and yet Poch keeps getting caught.

Meanwhile, in Brentford, James Maddison was doing this

Remind me why we passed on him a couple of seasons ago?

  15. I remember when Brentford took 'Pool apart at Anfield, not so long ago, in the Cup.

So glad that hasn't happened to us... (yet).

That is true of all forwards.

    #196
  17. Not all. Some have the ability to make things happen for themselves.

They are, of course, very few and far between.

I'd accept that it's true for 99.9% of forwards.

0.1% of forwards is not a lot, is it. :)

Would be interesting to see the real stats for all
of the forwards claimed to be good at 'making goals
themselves' . I suspect the % of such goals as a
total of all goals scored is nowhere near as high as
    perceived.

I said it before the game. - I don’t understand picking approximately 7 or so first teamers that make up an odd imbalanced line up. If we’re going to play that many, we may as well play all 11 of them, and then take players off. Alternatively, play a load of kids in their natural positions, where despite inexperience, the team will still contain the right attributes needed for a balanced side.
Everyone could see before the game that Wanyama, Dier, Dembele and a Sissoko was never gonna work.
But as a result, we now face a replay and more minutes on the pitch, where all our starting XI will have to play anyway. Some will have played 180 mins now, instead of 90.

  20. I was using 99.9% as a shorthand way of saying what you just said.

Forwards like Messi, Ronaldo and Bale are extremely rare.
