I'm with everyone that MP isn't the right manager, but unless he wins three or four league games on the bounce he literally can't win (with the fans). Plays a fairly strong team in the cup and gets slated for not thinking about Wednesday. Wins and he gets slated for the sub he made. If we'd have lost he'd have been slated for not playing a strong team and giving the players some winning confidence.

As I said, I don't think he's the manager for us by any means but any debate about him and his tactics etc is completely pointless while the majority of fans refuse to see thought or reason in what he does. I actually feel a bit sorry for him.

That was a very sweet strike. Would have been some goal had it gone in

Emile is the new Morgan. The very lovely Mrs Godders:emoticon-0115-inlov has fallen for the guy.

what I’ve been trying to say..... is that there is no angst over here as it’s all tongue in cheek so you can spare me the moral lecture!

I laughed so hard at that, it was the most Boufal thing to do. But i'm not a person who's super entertained by skill anyway which is maybe why seeing players using it and not producing anything at the end of it doesn't make them rate me any higher. and probably why my MotM was Davis who while not flashy was involved in most of our chances and kept the ball going forward. Stephens might deserve it more but i was on the wrong side of the pitch to him second half so hard to see what his contribution was.

I'd still rather see Boufal in the box more, maybe as an AM as i think the opposition would have a harder time tackling him. and i think his 2 best moments were in the box, one of which he should have won a penalty for.In terms of raw potential i think he has the most of anyone on the team, but he just makes the wrong final decision every time at the moment.

I really hope Boufal's not in the team on Wednesday, just for the crack! <laugh>

Could be, I got out of the wrong side of the bed this a.m. and am having a rare grouch moment. I would rather that we debated the problems than pick on other posters even if they do get up your nose a bit. <peacedove>

Not unreasonable though, playing both isn't the best tactic in my jaded opinion. plenty of other options available.

I don’t think he will, which is one of the reasons he started in the first place instead of JWP.
The sub was purely tactical imo. Whilst there is obvious logic to the change given the physical threat Watford posed and successfully used only a few weeks ago. It was a complete mis-read of the state of the game, it killed the momentum of the team and the crowd by signaling we’re going to protect what we have

I don’t disagree but it cuts both ways. I came on here to debate but was immediately shot down with being labelled as “narrow minded” and “fans like this piss me off”. That’s where it started. I reckon if you are feeling a bit grumpy that this might have prompted a little reaction maybe?

Some of us are a bit shell shocked by the constant negativity aimed at the Club and its staff, sometimes it gets a bit wearing and there is is a need to restore reality. There is a good case for defending the seemingly indifensible in the interests of fair play. I am not a MoPo2 fan either, but I have been wrong in the past about Managers, got it right about Lawrie Mac in 1976 though and we won something that time. Jumping on the Puel out brigade may have been a mistake too, but that is debateable, if we had got the right man in, would we be a lot happier? There is just a chance the MoPo2 could get it right with the players he needs, and a bit of support, funny old game football, you never know what fate will deal you next.

No one would have learned enough to make any opinion based on the minimal contribution from MoTD!

My support in the ground is never in question and I actually do like the guy and would be overjoyed if he turns it around to become a great manager for us. But I just can’t believe he keeps making the same mistakes with the game plan. Yes we won, yes I’m happy but it’s going to end in tears if we keep the tactical negativity. I sense that the Brighton game will end all arguments one way or another.

It is a team game, we are short on leadership on the pitch, SD is too much of a nice guy and only leads by example, someone else on here mentioned that we need someone that can bully and encourage the rest, Bertie did quite well against Spuds, but it needs a stronger personality.
MoPo2's tactics are very questionable but has he really got the tools to do the job?
The Brighton game may provide some answers but I can't see it being very conclusive, except a humiliating defeat, which could be good or bad depending on what happens afterwards. It should be a somewhat different XI to start, we could struggle if we haven't got any fit full backs, most of our attacks stem from that route, no one seems to try the direct approach anymore, although Guido may influence the tactics once we know what he can do?
