Yeah **** that, I'd take a trophy over any position in the league bar 1st and I'd also accept the FA Cup and relegation in the same season.

Although you'd class me as a 'sky era fan' ;)

You would not swap a LC for 2nd spot in the prem. Lieb, you just wouldn't

what's the full deal there mate.

league cup for saints and what 17th or 2nd?

and same for LFC? call it 7th and league cup or 2nd...

tbh from here I don't know... a 2nd in a genuine title race is different to also rans just sorting out minor places isnt it?

Why, in 10 years time when your kids are looking at the clubs honours list will 2nd spot in PL be shown?

<laugh> Champions league group stages and the memories that would bring would far outweigh a pissy LC for Soton

Yeah **** those memories of seeing your team lift a pot! <doh>

Plus it's easy to say when you've won what, 8 of them?

We've won one major trophy in our entire 133 years as a football club, one.

When my nipper is a bit more grown up or maybe has children of his own I'd rather tell the story of seeing us lift a trophy at Wembley than the story of us finishing second in a competition once to get battered in a different competition that we'll never win. "Son, I remember the glory days of us qualifying for a competition!"

If offered the FA Cup and relegation this year ala Wigan I'd snap your hand off too <ok>

You think the kids of Spurs fans are more interested in looking at photos of them winning the LC in 2008 or at their current CL campaign?

Incomparable, they've got a healthy amount of trophies anyway and are a relatively big club.

Most years there are 2 or 3 teams in the CL group stage that most people think "who", getting to the semi or final may get some recognition but a trophy is always there in the record books :emoticon-0100-smile

Spurs won the LC thanks to a Berbatov penalty but finished 11th in the league. Berbatov immediately signed for Man Utd to play CL.

Of course the top 4 is more important that the LC and FA cup to the bigger teams. All that really matters is winning the Champions League and the Premier League.
