You said a team came here wanting to win..... every single team comes to win, no team comes to lose even if it's with a weakened team!

My concern is Adkins won't have wanted a replay , so we went out there today to attack and have a go with almost nothing to lose , and it was brilliant , at times we overplayed trying to score the perfect Barcelona goal , I worry as soon as a point for a draw comes back on the table , we won't see it and it will be more like the last 2 league games with an isolated striker and 2 midfielders not passing the halfway line - we haven't been building towards that today , it came out the blue we where unrecognisable from Sunderland , and imo was down to a whole different attitude .

How many league points have we taken since losing to them at home?

I think 'vastly' improved is an ever so slight exaggeration. The FA Cup is an unwelcomed distraction to the most important thing which is maintaining current league status. Something we are still ****ing miles away from achieving.

It was confirmed again today that Viking commentary is ****ing ****.

    I agree with nige

On how the win might be a boost going back into Championship action…“It’s five without defeat at home since I came here and the games we have lost away have all been 1-0, so it has been very, very close. The attitude and application of the players has been first class, apart from 20 minutes against Sunderland, and they are having a right good go. They’re passionate about what they’re doing and we’re working very hard on the training ground. We’re striving to improve and everybody is buying into that.”

Pisses me off when people talk about attitude and application, as if they’re a bonus or a positive.

Really happy to wake up to see we had won, I really thought Forest who give us a seeing too, as must have 4000 Forest fans. Nice to know they went home with their tail between their legs. Sounds as if it was a good performance and a decent atmosphere at the game for a change. Looks as if Bowen had a good game now he is back on the right where he scored most of his goals early on.

Nice also to see Clark and Stewart had a good games, as did Mazuch, who must be a shoe in for Tuesday night alongside Dawson.

Well, let's hope for a favourable draw in the next round and hope history repeats itself as far as reaching the final goes.

He needs to be fit to be playing, he got injured on Boxing Day and hasn’t been available until now. Last year, he got his first start against Bolton, got injured and was out for a month. He’s been out injured, or returning from weeks out, for over half the season so far.

I don’t think the attitude and application was first class, or even second class against Reading...it looked slovenly to me.
Anyone with some bite and willingness to step up the pace could have won that game

He was not picked to start loads of games he was available, which was entirely my point. After one of my posts to this effect I seem to recall you saying he wasn’t in on merit :emoticon-0148-yes:

There were certainly games he was available for that he didn’t start, but he’s still been missing half the season, so it’s a bit of a stretch to suggest he’d have been the answer to our defensive woes this season.

Dawson and Mazuch would be my starting pairing, I don’t remember saying otherwise.

Mazuch looks to have the original Paul McShane in him to me. Not sure he's the answer, but results/performances with him in compared to hector the horse speak for themselves.

Bottom line I don't think any of them are good enough. Dawson has gone right down the ****ter this year.

Mazuch is all blood and thunder, so far he’s been quite lucky and he’s got away with quite a lot, but that’s unlikely to last forever.

But despite the risk of the odd penalty being given away, he’s a much better option than Hector.

Dont worry.... Adkins will still find a place for Hector.... in midfield.

Most annoying thing yesterday was the free kick given against Irvine for a high boot, when his boot was a foot off the ground. <doh>
