I’m neutral on the tactics.

Yes, we invited pressure and had to defend when MP made changes. But then, isn’t that supposed to happen? You let them attack so long as they don’t score. And they didn’t.

Maybe not what I would have done, but at the same time it is hard to argue too much with a manager playing for a 1-0 win and winning 1-0.

Solid win. Not sure how much confidence our attack will get from that and guido wasn't really involved but we defended well and watford barely got a sniff.

 

Would be happier if we sat back and still had a threat on the break but we don't. Still be able to watch MoTD for a change.

Your right of course, but why when you are so on top would you take off an attacking threat and bring on a defender inviting pressure?

 

I may not have been there today but I listened to every second. We were absolutely dominant until the baffling tactical change. Cedric appeared to have been struggling with a knock and it seemed nailed on he would come off with Stephens moving over to the right. We totally gave the initiative away from that moment and barely had a kick after. Watford had a free header in the last second. Just terrible terrible tactics. No excuse.

 

I appreciate that Pellegrino is desperate for a win, but seriously how can he not see, after the same thing has happened in almost every game this season, that if you are playing well and attacking and controlling a game, suddenly sitting back is only going to end badly.

If it was the first few games then I’d see that he was testing it. But this has happened in practically every game this season.

Nice to be in the hat for the next round but seriously Mauricio, if you’re not in control of a game, stay that way and don’t give the opposition the chance to come back in it.
