**** that really increases our need for a striker but with a budget less than the cost of a packet of Frazzles.
I like Sylla and don't want him sold. Hope he recovers quick and gets back and scores the goals we need to keep us up.
Did anything come of the alledged prolific striker "Niko Muir" trial with Rangers. Another Vardy, Austin??....even a Lambert wld do me!!
Not Sylvia’s fault imo he does get some ****e service. Washington must of missed the most chances in the hoops for many a year Sorry but for a goal scorer Washington is very poor no composure but I cannot knock his effort. Sylvia looks lazy but he takes up better positions imo and is rarely found The Rat is a major success imo The Polish lad for me was poor
In Washington's defence: He may not be the next Jamie Vardy - however when we bought him from Peterborough in 2016 he had played 82 games scoring 27 goals just shy of 1 every 3 games. Prior to that he was non-league. You cannot fault his effort, he does try and he chases things down - maybe he needs either a run in a settled team - Gerry Francis told Sir Les he would be his number 9 at the start of one season (cannot remember which) and it seemed to take weight of the players shoulders knowing that his manager rated him highly. Obviously we do not know whether Ollie rates the lad, or wants to sell him but with an ex-England striker working behind the scenes, I would be expecting Sir Les to pass on guidance and advice - after all it benefits everyone if we have a striker knocking in goals. I'm not into player knocking as this affects their confidence unless it is justified - Boswinga being the standout mercenary.
Apparently he impressed in his trial and QPR are keeping an eye on his performances back at Hendon. It all seems a bit odd to me.
It is what annoys me most about Ollie, that he repeatedly left out Pawel and Sylla, who with Smith for me always look our best way of scoring goals the few minutes they got together at the end of games, and gave Mackie and Washington far more starts than their performancea and stats deserved. Or he plays Smith with no wingers and Washington who rarely sees a knockdown, let alone getting to one and putting it away.
I am beginning to wonder if the sales that have taken place, and the players released is a sign that we are shortly due to be receive the FFP fine. It would explain the lack of new players arriving - and maybe Ollie having his hands tied. He may be a manager with limited abilities but he is Rangers through and through
No that's not what I'm saying. yes he is Rangers through and through, but who would want to come in? They would have exactly the same issues that Ollie is dealing with. And just for the record, the ex Watford manager (cannot remember his name) would be the one I want in charge IF there was top be a change
I thought we were appealing the FFP decision made on the 2013/2014 season and that TF has said the eventual fine would be covered by the owners? But think FFP for the 3 seasons ending this one are to be assessed March and include an estimate for this 2017/2018 season. If we are close to the limit as rumoured this window is going to be about trying to save wherever we can.
So If TF is going to cover the fine, why are we not seeing new players come in? Or is it Ollie's formations, or are we such a turn off for potential new players?
