I might actually agree that he has some narcissism and nepotism about him. But there again most successful people do. I will give him some slack on that. The rest of your accusations are blatant bandwagoning.

It is so hip, trendy and right-on to hate on Trump - I get that. Rather than be a sheep, I will take ALL points of view into account and form my own opinion. As I have said before on here, I was genuinely pleased when Obama got the job. He was a skilled and polished orator and a decent, well intentioned man. Trump is far less polished and certainly doesn't fit the 'fashionable' demographic. But I will take him at face value and judge him upon results.

It is not a case of who is right or wrong. It is a case of results. And I am on is the side of the hard-pressed American taxpayer. You are not even invited to the team selection meeting on that one.

Steady on with that reasoned response, it will not catch on here. You need to throw a load of catchy labels and social-media sound-bites out to have any real credibility or be accepted by the Clique - cannot you post some links you old Nazi you?

Like most racist Nazi whitey Americans. One of the most respected posters on here boasts that he has never been to the US and finds the whole country unpalatable - it fits nicely into the whole Liberal Lefty movement

    This will shock you YW...

Before I ended up here, I had never considered visiting the US. Not personally nor professionally. Perhaps I was a victim of the media schtick that portrayed it as violent and uncivilized. Full of uncouthness where people were scared to walk the mean streets after dark.

Nothing could be further from the truth. People are (by a huge majority) polite, friendly and welcoming. Good grief we even say hello to each other on the street.

I have worked for American corporations since 1983. In that time I have "lived " and visited the US so many times that I cannot even care to remember. I have also taken my family on so many wonderful holidays there that I will never forget. I have friends there that are as diverse as you could want to meet.
My closest friend in Oregon is the most wonderful lady who is from a Mexican/Texas background - but she hates Texas! She was employed by the US government as a Spanish interpreter and sent to the embassy in Argentina - she was 18. There she met her husband, he was Marine guarding the embassy. He came from Oregon and was from an original German family - there are still large German communities in Oregon. They settled back in Oregon after government service. You could not want to meet a family of the most nicest, easy going people. Yes, they love their country, their love their god, but they would give you their last breath - these are the Americans I know.

I met my American wife while she was on an educational trip to London. So I could be described as a souvenir from that trip. She is a proud Hispanic American and my mother-in-law was born in Mexico. My in-laws are a hard-working, college educated and god-fearing family and they have welcomed this immigrant into the fold with open arms. My two daughters are a mixture of Scots, Irish, Mexican and a little Cuban blood. So my Nazi credentials are looking a little shaky at this point.

We live in Texas. We used to live in near Dallas in the north of the state. Now we are in the Rio Grande Valley - right on the border. The frontier is literally a ten minute drive from my front door. The population demographic here is 90-94% percent Hispanic and the culture is quite unique. It is centered around the family and is very agreeable. Despite being poorer than most parts of the states it has a lower crime rate than just about everywhere else - that says something. The people here too are proud Americans (even when Spanish is their native language), proud too of their Hispanic culture and have good relations and trade with our noisy neighbors over the fence.

There are a lot of towns in Texas with strong German roots too. Especially in the San Antonio area. Some of the beers brewed in that neck of the woods are most agreeable.

So you're going to ignore his retweeting of Britain First videos? His comments about Mexican rapists? His 'pussy-grabbing' videos caught on tape?

I don't think he's a decent man. Or a decent orator. He can barely speak. Have you ever read a transcript of one of his speeches?

I respect your decision to support him. His actions, his beliefs and his recent tax cuts for the rich mean that I could never consider him to be a decent human being.

I can see I am in for a busy few days. But I will take your points one by one.

Certainly he should not have retweeted those videos. I would view that as an attempt to interfere with British politics - and I believe he has expressed regret in the Piers Morgan interview. By the same yardstick, didn't Obama attempt to interfere with British politics in the same way by trying to influence the Brexit vote with threats of trade repercussions? I will answer that one for you - yes he did.

Mexican rapists? Not all of them for sure - he is playing to the crowd on that one. But as soon as anyone crosses the southern border illegally they have committed a felony and are subject to the laws of the land. It matters not if they rapists - the law has been broken and there are consequences. I know several members of the Border Patrol - and trust me - it ain't Latin America's best and brightest sneaking in.

The 'pussy-grabbing' tapes - distasteful yes. But pretty much locker room bluster and it was long before he entered politics. What about Bill Clinton actually carrying out multiple sexual assaults while in office. Is that not far more concerning?

Where did I say I thought he was a decent man? Or a decent orator? I was referring to Obama on that. Although with the upcoming fallout over the misuse of FISA warrants by that administration has caused me to rethink that viewpoint. Politics is a Machiavellian trade after all.

Of course I support him. I want him to do well as I would want any leader of the country to do well. I don't have any political affiliations. The bottom line is if he does well the country does well - and I see no problem with that whatsoever.

His tax cuts for the rich? You are falling for that one? The individual tax mandate actually benefits those earning less than 200K USD per annum. And those earning less than 25K will benefit the most. Hardly one for the super wealthy. You might be assuming that reduction in the corporate rate is purely for the rich? It seems to be having a rather good effect on the economy across the board and that benefits us all.

You can all bark on about how horrid and nasty he is all day long. I am going to answer reasonably and factually. Here's some advice - go and read some centrist material (not CNN, Fox, MSNBC or the BBC). You will get a far less biased view to contaminate your thoughts. I would suggest The Wall Street Journal.

Trump is not on the side of the hard pressed American taxpayer. I have enough family and friends from Philadephia (Fly Eagles Fly) to Mayland to Oregon to California to Texts to garner an informed opinion. He's ripping the taxpayers off and installed his children into positions of authority where they have no business being.
The only thing going for him is that Pence, et al, are likely to be worse. .. they're only there because of the reality TV star's popularity. Bunch of religious fanatics and bigots they are. Apparently he didn't want to be president which is a bit like bojo not wanting brexsh*t.

So what you are saying is that you know a couple of people over here and are forming your opinion on theirs? Riiight. Do you happen to have any family and friends in North Korea too? Apparently life is sweet there.

You mention California and Oregon. Well those states have notoriously high State and Local taxes (SALT). That is nothing to do with the Trump tax plan and may actually increase the tax liability of high earners in those areas. But instead of railing against profligate inefficient local government - it's much easier to blame Trump for their woes. It's actually a pretty smart political move by Trump. But perish the thought that facts might get in their way of a good rant eh?

What I am saying is that I have spent enough time over there to understand what is going on and to form an opinion which is well researched on both sides of the argument. It's not as if I know a bloke who knows a bloke who knows a bloke. And some of my friends are quite well to do white Southern Baptists. Sigh.

In what world would a teacher carry a gun so that they could shoot a pupil? The teachers put themselves in harm's way to protect pupils, I cannot imagine one ever shooting a child - even one with a gun - that is for the police if it has to be done. How can anyone support gun laws that lead to this sort of idiocy?
