Most Sunderland fans seem to love him, yet I think he is a bit overrated, after the Liverpool game people were stating he's better than Henderson. I just don't see it at the moment. He's neat and tidy yes but I don't think he's good enough yet. I know that Catts splits opinions but for me he was better than Colback on Saturday. If Colback is that good howcome we've pretty much lost most games he's started? Try him out wide perhaps but not in the middle at the mo' these next few games we need a bit of experience. Now before people start slagging me, I'd rather have footballing comments back to back up your points. Also I'm not saying he is **** or he's been bad. I think the lad is a good talent and can only improve but this should be done more gradually, just like it should have been done with Henderson, he was overplayed last season and went off the boil, for Me Colback should be on the bench..

Also Sess' should not be playing in the hole. The longer Bruce persists with this the worse it will be. His end product hasn't been great and we seem to by pass him. I'd rather see Richardson with his pace used in the hole, really both players should be vying for the left wing birth and giving us some much needed balance. How long is O'shea out anyway? I thought he just had a slight knock and he must have been out over a month now.

    My proposed best Sunderland team.

    Gordon
    Oshea Bramble Brown Bardsley/Ferdinand
    Larrson Gardiner Meyler/Catt Sess
    Richardson
    Gyan

However I would be using the Young strikers as much as possible from the bench.

I'll pop my hardhat on now

His strength is in his passing, and calm on the ball. However, he is somewhat lightweight.

I think we already have a better player who can fulfil Colback's role, and that is Vaughan. Left footed, like Colback, more experienced,a better passer, and has a physical side that lets him get a tackle in.

Yeah i agree with this post...

Colback is flavour or the year for Bruce (doesnt say much for him at the moment)

But apart from Vaughan,,,,,,,,,,,what about Gardner..............so it continues......

Have to agree with op , to light weight and dosn't have a big enough game to make a difference, not worthy of a start but I could also say the same for Ricco and Elmo

Well with my form of slanging off Richardson it's guaranteed colback would be in front of him in any position.
This isn't blind dislike of Ricco I truly believe Colback is better and has shown some fine form so far.
Richardson was again at fault for Brighton's goal by standing and watching the guy cross the ball.

The only reason Richardson is playing as a defender is Bruce's failure to acquire players to play in specific positions and consequently he constantly tries established players in situtations to which they are not best suited.

We know that although not prolific Richardson is capable of scoring some stunning goals and with a regular place might become a more consistent scorer. A defender he is not, as the role does not come naturally to him although in fairness he has done his best and Bruce should carry the blame for failing to buy a natural defender for the role.

I cannot see the logic behind the decisions Bruce has taken in the last two matches but his future rests on this season after the multiplicity of midfielders that he has bought when other positions needed to be filled

It was the first time I saw Colback live last night and must say I was very impressed.
