I have to get this off my chest, so sorry Syd, BruceysBeak & Commachio ;)

I have to say that I was appalled by some of the outright abuse aimed at visiting mags and fans of other clubs with valid and interesting points to make last night.

We are known throughout the country for our friendliness towards fans of other clubs and are often praised for the behaviour of our away fans when visiting other clubs, so why are a small minority making our board read like we are all a bunch of unwelcoming aggressive animals?

If they were wumming, I could understand it, but just have a read of some of last nights threads and you will discover that perfectly sensible posts were made by our neighbours up the road, only to be told in the very next post by one of our own to "f**k off back to your own board"

You may say that you have been treated in the same fashion when visiting other boards, but does this mean that we have to behave in the same manner? We are better than that guys, aren't we?

This website is dedicated to ALL football fans. This is not an exclusive club for SAFC fans alone and would be extremely boring if it was! If you can't tollerate fans of other clubs visiting our board for a debate about football, or other subjects of interest, then I'm sorry, but not606 is not the website for you.

What about the mag popping up and giving off false scorelines on the Brighton thread last night, can't remember which dullard it was but it was pretty tedious last night and to be honest you get sick of it.

    Agree completely, Dorset <ok>

They have wums and you just ignore them or tell 'em to piss off. But they also have decent posters and the banter with them is perfectly sound.

I try to avoid the outright abusive stuff, but if you ever ventured onto one of their match threads you would certainly get abused big time ang your comments would more than likely be deleted by their mods...Ididn't participate in any abuse of Mags posts, but the sheer volume of crap that was coming from them made me understand why some of our posters were losing patience.

    Well said.

Some people on here have the problem of tarring everyone with the same brush. If some absolute mag twat comes on here and starts spewing ****, SOME mackems take it out on our entire club. If a Newcastle supporter tries to WUM, we aren't automatically behind him. In fact, most of us will think he's a tit.

I know that if a mackem comes on our board and tries to WUM (like Psycho for example), he is entirely independent of the rest of you and doesn't not represent any of you, so I won't take it out on anyone other than him. On here, if one mag makes a wum thread, it's "the skunks are causing **** on our board" or whatever.

Dorset as you can see my the number of my posts i'm usually fairly active...........

But what is acceptable and what isn't? i usually let most things go being fairly tolerant and that (and a twat and a pisstaker) in a kinda humerous way.

But even i'm (not shocked, looking for a more subtle word here) as to how we are percieved by the rest of the not606 board now..........

We are in danger of self imploding here............i welcome the mags and all the rest of football supporters to our board.

But some are sounding like a right bunch of Mary Whitehouse ****ing do gooder's (please dont insult me, or if you dont agree with me please leave) nancies.

Spot on. I am sorry but the mags that come on here never have anything positive to say about Sunderland, why would they. Then when they get a bit of stick or their opinions are disagreed with they start crying about it.

I do not agree with just going "**** off" when a fan of another club makes a post but you do have to question some of their motives some of the time. As a Sunderland supporter I will defend my club, my players and my manager (even if I am pissed off with him at the moment) and I don't see how that is wrong.

....and you are right to say that marra. I'm like you, tolerant and let most things go, except racism etc. I very rarely delete anything, but last night was embarrassing for those of us that show patience with visiting fans.

One or two people need to rise above it and grow a thicker skin.....

So I assume it is me this thread is pointing at?

But buddy you finished off with "if he gets injured your left with Wickham. Then you'll be proper f**ked" if that is the thread your talking about.

Your a Newcastle supporter coming onto a Sunderland board when feelings are running high to tell us our new singing is ****e and we would be "proper ****ed" if we had to play him. I am not agreeing with the level of swearing, abuse etc but can't you accept just a little bit you were somewhat provocative with that statement.

Someone has mentioned above the need for thicker skins, it works both ways.

Generalisation. Yesterday I made several positive comments about SAFC while explaining why I thought a managerial change right now wasn't a good idea for you.

Good thread btw Dorset, same applies with Newcastle board - there's always idiots but anybody willing to have decent conversation shouldn't be insulted for no reason.

    Nice post Dorset.

I occasionaly venture onto the Mags board, although never to WUM, and m usually welcomed, have some good balanced craic, and even a few laughs with their lads.

Fair play, if someone is deliberately wumming, give them ****, chase them, but it's 100 true that last night there was some valid and genuinely on the money post from our dearest, that were assasinated.

I'll put it down to rage , and alcahol consumption, that i know myself, and a few of our lads were involved in!

It just honesty mate, Wickham is young and developing and Ji is a complete new territory. Maybe saying "****ed" was out of order and I can probably see that now, was just emphasising my point that the PL should take priority.

OK, I can't be bothered to find the particular posts but if you did get any grief it was probaly because you're a Mag explaining to us about our managerial problems, See above concerning thicker skins. I think the point I am trying to make is if you come on our boards expect to get some grief because guess what, there will be some Sunderland fans who have no interest at all in what you have to say and will tell you so. I am not saying I agree with that stance or indulge in it myself but please don't be surprised if you encounter that attitude whatever the rights or wrongs of it.
