Just another example of terrible management of the club with the polish lad. Lessens learned my arse. Who does the homework on these players?! Goss another example. If he was any good surely someone better than us would have come in for him. Patience, we are heading in the right direction.
On that basis Bob we will never get any one good in, because ‘someone better’ will get them first, and if they don’t we will know that whoever it is isn’t good enough. I think the idea is we get players who might have some potential and improve them. And yes, I agree, there is a pretty ****ing enormous flaw with that plan, the absence of a decent coach. So we will rely on Chris Ramsey to develop some kids, and trust that because he did it with Spurs he can do it with us. But of course as we know good kids will get poached before they get near the first team as well.
IH said Ariel is like a new signing at beginning of season but then didn’t play him! What I saw of him he looked useful, disappointed
The superstars are few and far between. Sterling being our main youngster who got snapped up. The kid who went to Everton, never heard of him since. Football is becoming too distanced from the fans. Money is more important than actually playing. My point is this: if we produce a gem then we won't have him for long. So are we just trying to produce decent players to play at low championship level.
I will be whatever I choose to be thank you very much. It was a ****ing rude comment and I took offence, so voiced my opinion. Just because it differs to yours does not mean I should just shut up.
I think there is far more chance for youth to break through following the changes at the club, so hopefully youngsters will be more likely to stick with us. Fingers crossed we can develop some talent!
There’s the rub. You either do a Wolves/Boro as an owner and invest in a name manager and some players and take the huge gamble that it works and you get to the PL, and then you use the PL money to stay there. If it doesn’t work you have stored up some big problems for yourself, expensive failed players on contracts, FFP etc. Or you are pretty skint, don’t want to gamble and hope to hang around in the Championship long enough to have a great season by mistake. Of course, you might also drop down a League as well. We have found ourselves in the second category because we tried the first and ****ed it up at the worst possible time, before the PL money hit the truly insane levels and exactly when the FL had its most punitive version of FFP in place. Trust QPR. While I don’t think we’ll drop this season (through no great efforts of our own) once we get beyond the humiliation and depression of that happening it will be instructive to revise our expectations yet again. After staying up in 2011/12 I was hoping for one more season in Europe (Europa League fine) before I was too decrepit, since revised down to one more season in the PL, soon to be getting to the Championship playoffs one year while I’m still able to walk.. Of course even if the stupid ****ers end up in the regional leagues where we started, I’ll still be following them.
Very rude comment??? Saying that a polish lad is a plumber and has fixed the shower are you upset because you could never reach them giddy heights and have to flip burgers instead. Bless
Gents my comment was said in jest, my wife's father is Polish and if I had said it to him, he would have laughed, possibly said it to me before I thought of it. If you took offence Jammy then I apologise but would say you took the comment the wrong way.
So Holloway cocked up again because the Rat turned out to be twice the player we all thought he was and Borysiuk wasn't prepared to waste any more time warming the bench waiting for him to break a leg or lose form? And then he refused to chuck bucket loads of money to keep him just as an insurance policy. Well thanks for explaining that to me guys. Now i understand.
Fair enough, apologies for being over sensitive to your comment...I clearly got the wrong end of the stick and was a little out of line to fire a quip your way (and you durbar). Sorry! I fell foul of misinterpreting the written word me thinks.
