    Competition - FA Cup
    Stage - Fourth round
    Date - Saturday, 27 January 2018
    Kick Off - 15:00
    Venue - Meadow Lane

Following their 'unbelievable' 1-0 victory over a Liverpool side that had an unbeaten run of 18 matches, next up for Carlos Carvalhal's Swansea team is an away FA Cup match at Notts County.

With the Swans facing Arsenal at home in the PL on the following Tuesday evening - a much more important fixture in the greater scheme of things - it is likely that the Swans will make wholesale changes from the team that defeated Liverpool.

The Swans and Notts County have met on 70 occasions, with the Swans winning 30, Notts County 24 and 16 draws.

The sides last met almost 13 years ago, in a League Two fixture in March 2005, when County ran out 1-0 victors. The Swans team that day was:

    Starting lineup:
    Willy Gueret
    Kristian O'Leary
    Sam Ricketts
    Izzy Iriekpen
    Andy Gurnet
    Iran Anderson
    Marcus Bean
    Adrian Forbes
    Kevin McLeod
    Lee Thorpe
    Lee Trundle

    Substitutions:
Leon Britton for Adrian Forbes 52
Paul Connor for Lee Thorpe 52
Andy Robinson for Ijah Anderson 73

The Swans ended that season in 3rd place in the table and secured automatic promotion to League One, along with Yeovil (Champions) and Scunthorpe (Runners-Up). 4th place Southend were also promoted via the Plsy-Offs.

Looking ahead to Saturday, I think that irrespective of the starting line-up, the Swans will win 2-0.

Ideal game for Bony, Mesa, Sanches and a couple of 23s to get some minutes in.

    Nordfelt
    Rangel VdH Bartley Paljk
    Fulton Mesa
    King Sanchez Routledge
    Bony

Narsingh, Mawson, McBurnie, Mulder, Carroll, Gori, Roberts.

Anyone know the situation with Abraham?

not for me. I wouldn't be making all those changes 1, keep winning going for confidence and 2. game time for subs alomgside starters gives the manager more of an idea of who he can partner should the need arise. wholesale changes in my mind makes no sense.

we really don't need to end up losing this and undoing all the good work done so far,.

Though I suspect he will make a lot of changes.

Same for me , why play Rangel he's had his time ,I'd play Roberts instead potentially he's the future again with Routledge , by all means give few youngsters a run out and as it is so close to the Arsenal game I expect there will changes to rest key players ( after last nights performance I'd have to say all of them)

Winning does breed confidence but Carlos has to field fringe players other than most of those who have been the so called regulars. We have Arsenal coming up and we must make sure our key players are fresh and fully fit.......We should have enough in our locker to put a side out capable of beating a league two side. I would play both Rangel, Leon and dyer as 3 very experience players that the rest can feed off....2 - 0 Swans....

If the intention is to win there have to be some experienced players leading the rest, IMO. Rangel, Routledge and the other fringe names need a run out because they could still have a big say in our season.
A number of our back up players need some competitive minutes to keep them interested and game fit.
Our under 23s have won against League 2 teams who tend to be weakened by managers who want to concentrate on the league.
If the intention is to get knocked our just send the under 23s.
IMO, Connor Roberts might be OK at that level but few of the youngsters are good enough. Again, imo, playing our youth is arrogant, disrespectful and could easily lead to another unwanted replay.
Following the main players' efforts put in against Liverpool (and Arsenal coming up) I wouldn't involve first team players other than Bony who needs game time.

    What team would pick?

This is a difficult fixture for both sides. The Swans will be looking at the Arsenal fixture on Tuesday night and will be looking to give some players a break after last nights match against Liverpool.

Notts County have been riding high at the top of League 2 but have had a serious blip in form. They will be more keen to get their League form going.

But can Kevin Nolan resist a chance to bloody a Premier League nose? Jon Stead and Shola Ameobi will also be keen to impress. A win will be a boost for both teams so I think both teams will have fairly strong sides out, with the Swans pinching a 2-0 away victory and plenty of Hymns and Arias from a big away following in the Jimmy Sirrell Stand..

We should be too strong as a premiership club playing our fringe players anyway against league two opposition. We out played wolves comfortable and they should be a premiership team next season...I dont see much of a problem whoever carlos pick to play tbh.

Stoke fans said exactly the same thing when they went to Coventry in round 3, we should take nothing for granted.

It's because our under 23's have had some experience against League 2 sides this could be the opportunity to give a few the chance especially as the players likely to be chosen against Arsenal should be given a rest

    Nordfelt
    Roberts, Bartley, Rodon, Naughton
    Routledge, Byers, Mesa, James
    Mcburnie, Gorre

Mcburnie has to start against this opposition and would have Leon, VDH, and Rangel on the bench with the rest under 23's plus the Dutch keeper. Bony needs to be managed and should not play in this game.

I'd look to give Leon a good 30mins run out during the game.

We need him fully fit asap.

As for Sanchez, I personally don't want to see him play another minute for us.

No we aren't, but we are the swans who made loads of changes against Oxford in the cup and lost that one too. to many changes and we lose, take them for granted and we lose. we need to go there pretty strong and win the game get into the 5th round and that breeds confidence.

Would definitely like to see James, Byers & Gorre given some minutes. They've been the standouts (along with McBurnie) in the U23s this season.

No disagree, With Arsenal coming up we must keep our key players free from possible injuries....The premiership must take preference over cup games to give us a better chance of survival......We have plenty of players who can play and i think Carlos will do that....
