The Sinner is superb. Black Lightning has good reviews so it's in my list for once I've done Fargo again. Ep 5 of Fargo rewatch done.
Stopped watching when we were moving, not gone back to them as I'm not that bothered. Not going to have time again soon, starting in the kitchen and utility room in February It will have been a year come April
Question about BBC shows. Well current day British shows in general can't blame it all on BBC although I notice it more on their shows... So, England these days according to wikipedia is almost 8% Asian and 3.5% Black. Why is it, whenever I watch a British produced show set in England, (at least the ones that make it across the pond), the actors are usually made up of about 20% black and almost never an Asian to be seen? Asians account for twice as many people as blacks but are nowhere to be seen... Whereas black people seem to be very highly represented (even, ridiculously making up a large percentage of medieval England according to Dr. Who). It seems almost like the BBC are trying so hard to be politically correct they over represent black people... (And non traditional sexuality couples for that matter) And completely forget about the huge Asian population in the process. Is it just me noticing this? Or is it just the shows with Asian actors haven't made it big globally?
You are correct. Meant to be PC and all that. Even Friends is getting grief. Surprised they aren't saying Breaking Bad and The Wire is racist. All the gangsters are foreign and all the mexicans are gangsters
There are Asian characters in the soaps and have been for ages so shows that are showing a representation of the day to day UK do have Asian characters, Line of Duty has one person in every series and 2 in one of them, The Night Of had Riz Ahmed as the main character. This is England also has an Asian character in every season. Maybe it's just certain shows, no idea really the ones I listed just popped into my mind when I thought about it.
Isn't the east end of London like 30-40% Asian? And 20% Black Always thought it funny that Eastenders started as a show attempting to reflect London life but stayed predominantly white to this day....
