I really hope Beer Goggles can do him proud, both in the Cleeve and at the festival.

    RIP <rose>

Just so sad, especially even more if it is what i think it is and will just show how bad depression can be. Guy was so liked and respected by pretty much all and had so much ahead of him, and Beer Goggles in the Cleeve this weekend. Just hope he is at peace, and hope Beer Goggles will pay his respects to his mate and trainer in the best possible way.

Apparently the Horses will be running under his wife’s name as she taken over the license but I bet his stables is a very dark place at the moment!

As far as I can tell, no statement has been released on his passing. Devon and Cornwall Police also issued a statement which read: "Police were notified at around 10.30 yesterday (Monday) to reports of a concern of welfare for a man at a property in Rose Ash, South Molton.

"A man in his 40s was discovered deceased at the scene."

"His death is not believed to be suspicious and a file has been prepared for the coroner."

    I hope I'm wrong Smoke.

Such a selfish act if he has done that. Heartbreaking for his family and my thoughts are with them

Yep that did pretty much confirm it without actually saying it, plus there was also a few things on his twitter where he retweeted some depression awareness things and liked the twitter of depression meetings etc.

Lets not turn this into a sour thread, but you can't blame someone for having depression and it's just awful when they see having to commit suicide as their only way out, if you get real depression you're ****ed most of the time, it's the biggest killer of men in the UK and awareness and simple mindedness is still very low and not high enough, the guy was 40, had a family, his whole life/future ahead of him and was becoming one of the top trainers and had just found a star in Beer Goggles who gave him the happiest moment of his training career and was running in another massive race at the weekend etc etc, yet his depression was still so bad that he felt he had to do that and that was his only way out.

That is horrific to be honest and very very scary and so sad.

To be quite frank **** you Chelsea! Who are you to come on here and tell me my opinion is sour.

You don't know anything about me, about my family, about my life. And for you to pass judgement and imply I have a simple mindedness or a lack of understanding about depression, to me just highlights your ignorance more than anything. Consider that when people post on here that opinions will differ and that sometimes people speak from experience not just to be provocative. I'm not getting embroiled in a debate on here but I'm not going to sit back and be called simple minded because you have an opinion that's different to mine.
