I was only thinking of Rich the other day - I felt sorry for him in the end, you could see his support for the Allams dwindling over the weeks/months, he'd rally a bit but then old man Allam would utter something ridiculous and he'd get knocked down again. His parting post on CI was painful to read really, he'd bought into the old **** and was distraught when reality hit home.
I missed his parting shot? What was it? He was one of those you couldn't resist taking the mick out of anything. Though I think he was a made up persona like Essex Gull. I am sure he will be about under another name, he had a few changes of name, as he will feel that it is cruel to deprive the world of his thoughts and opinions.
I thought Rich was too humourless not to be genuine? If he was a wum, he was a poor one. His last post was on the lines of ''like a fool I believed it all and slowly I've seen the light'' I felt his pain ... and then thought ....... worra ****in' ****er!
Been to Bourton on the Water several times...for eleventy several beers! Lovely place In Stow on the Wold though today
Stayed at The Porch House in Stow a couple of years ago. Great food and beers. Amazing how many pubs, restaurants and cafes are in Bourton considering it's population is less than 4,000.
I always thought the same when I worked in Esher. On top of that it had its own ski slope, cinema and horse track.
Just as well seeing that after looking at the stream, the bird sanctuary and yes the museum, there is not much else, on a rainy day there is even less to look at, been there a few times, summer and winter, pretty it is, maybe looks even better from inside of a pub.
Tend to go for days out, lots to see within an hour of Bourton. Having difficulty walking any distance having 3 decent pubs, 3 very good restaurants, half a dozen cafes and a bakery within 100 yards of the cottage I hired last year and more if I get my mobility scooter out is enough for this decrepit pensioner. Would rather spend a week there than in Brid or Hull.
Landed Saturday 1pm and had 24 hours there. No idea how much pints were, was in a round. But prob 6 euro.
Real Ale Festival is at Hull Minster again this year (despite Reverend Matt leaving) Starts 12th April Finishes 14th...Wednesday at home
