    ...why?

(Not ‘why don’t you have anywhere to put it’, but why is it there?)

There's a snapshot of the prices.

National interest is a worry for me. Sounds like out of town landlords hoovering them up.

They should be for local, upwardly mobile, young families.

Just going to say the same. Investors speculating. Ridiculous prices though.

Looks like they will do a decent job with them but you can get a lot more for your money in HU5.

    They’re very good
You wouldn’t think they’d need a full store though to sell such specific items

Maybe ‘Towels’ will be opening a shop next door?

    This is from the HDM.

A planning application has been submitted for a 35-bed hotel in Park Street, behind St Stephens Shopping Centre .

The Grade Two listed Hull School of Art building on the corner of Londesborough Street is being earmarked for the development which will also include eight apartments.

It’s hoped the proposed development would provide “significant economic benefits” to the city by bringing jobs to the area and offering a wider choice of accommodation to tourists.

The building was erected in the mid-19th century and could soon become home to the latest in a line of hotels to come to the city centre. It follows the opening of the DoubleTree by Hilton and a number of smaller hotels in the last few years.

The plans submitted to Hull City Council, by Maria Ferguson Planning Consultancy of North Yorkshire, “propose few physical alterations to the building,” with many of its original features kept in place.

The planning application on the council’s website says: “The approach and design ethos is one of minimal intervention, and all original features will be preserved.

The 'For Sale' sign is up outside the building in Park Street
"This includes fireplaces, flooring and original external fenestration. All heating infrastructure and pipework are to be retained, being original and contributing to the significance of the asset.

“The proposed development would bring about significant economic benefits to the town, creating employment, regeneration opportunities, and widening the offering for tourists and other visitors to Hull.

“It would result in the re-use of a prominent vacant building, and the associated repair and visual improvement. This will give rise to the continued viable use of an important listed building, securing the retention and continued upkeep of this heritage asset.”

Yes, but Cruise, Flannels and Van Mildert are in a premium division, run separately.
