Agreed. I don't think anything's happening this window. We'll try and fail at a couple of the deadline day deals as I am convinced Levy takes commission from Sky for keeping the channel interesting. If we do end up doing nothing I'll be massively disappointed. 2 of our rivals have strengthened significantly and if Arsenal bring in Aubameyang that'll make 3. Even an agreement to sign Sessegnon in the summer would cheer me up immensely. My gut feeling is that we'll try and fail for Lucas Moura and be left with Son as the only pacy attacker in the entire squad. Poch's comments after the Soton game about "not needing pace because we don't play on the counter" were deeply worrying and totally naive. City & Pool have pace in abundance and neither of them play on the counter. If he genuinely believes that it's no surprise we've never seen an emergence of a Plan B.
Tum-bay-Al-Weehid. Very pacey down the middle, and the next Mo Salah (cos FIFA 18 told me so). < FACT >
Would using his full name Malcom Oliveira help, or would you prefer the usual Brazilian mentalness of having about six names?
Probably won't sell many shirts in the Far East. Or a ****load of shirts in just one far Eastern country...
Yeah man, the **** happened to Brazilians?! From Pele, Rivaldo, Romario, Ronaldo, Kaka, Ronaldinho... to Fred, Jo, Malcom, Oscar, Wallace, Kenedy... I reckon that's why their football's gone downhill, it was all in the names, that's where the flair was from.
Actually I think we break with a lot of pace - not necessarily with players that can beat all comers at 100 metres, but with quick thinkers that for example push up very quickly when an opposition corner breaks down. You don't necessarily need the most rapid players for that, just people who realise the opportunity before the opposition. This worked very well against Dortmund and Real. I thought the way we played against them was our Plan B.
