Shortly before kick-off tonight . . . . this is a canny 'photo It's a pity about only catching half of Tricky Dickie, mind
Anyone remember 73 "Geordies here Geordies there Geordies every effing where" Modified to " Geordies here Geordies there Geordies not supposed to swear" After a conversation with the police
If I had the wings of a sparrow And the black arse of a crow I'd fly up high into the sky and sh1te on the.....(insert whoever were playing that day) below. From the early sixties if my memories not playing tricks on me.
I remember . . . . "Geordies here Geordies there Geordies every ****ing where la la la la, la la la la la" Modified to "Geordies here Geordies there Geordies aren't allowed to swear la la la la, la la la la la" and "If I had the wings of a sparrow If I had the arse of a crow I'd fly over nocastle tomorrow and **** on the bastards below, below . . . . and **** on the bastards below"
I need to get myself to a South Shields game. I’m guessing it’s a mix of Geordies and Mackems that go?
I keep meaning to dart over for one as well. Few of my pals ha e been going and aye good mix apparently and they say it’s usually good craic.
It's almost all Geordies (of which I'm one, and almost everyone from 'Sheels is, too - being born within a mile of the tyne) and mainly Sunderland supporters, 'cos it's a 'red & white town' but there are plenty of mags, too and it's always friendly 'cos we're all Sandies (most of which do not like being referred to as Geordies, 'cos of the inaccurate association that you just made)
I thought true Geordies were born on North Bank of Tyne of course the "Sandie Geordies" are under the Mackem spell
No idea mate. Despite my allegiance I only moved to the NE in July, and some of the nuances are new to me. I thought that Geordies were just local to Newcastle and certain areas of South Tyneside
Do you fancy going on Saturday, QWOP, against Hyde United, who are fourth and only 3 points behind us at the top ?
I remember being told Geordies, were born on North Bank of Tyne and Northumbrian's, were called "Humphries". Mackems (Sandy Geordies) are Geordies with Brains (banter). Recently (80'sapprox) Mackem was intended as an insult from the darkside ones. All good stuff but I m sure knowledgeable posters on here will know alternative urban myths.
