Yes K E M P, our squad HAS taken a hit on the quality within it, but because we gambled on Naismith (and others), we are in the mire and I'd be VERY surprised if we are challenging for promotion anytime soon.

Fast forward a few months and he's yet to score an away goal and gets to play every game because he's the only striker . Farcical.
To be fair DD - the way we are set up to play means he gets precious chances and tends to snatch at them when he does get one, so invariably they go HIGH/WIDE/UGLY!!!!

Sounds like Wildschut, but untested in this country. Player leaves on loan for free, pay for a new winger who is similar but probably weaker and untested in this country. Sounds like Norwich! At the moment, we are so weak and such a mess. Any player in, I'll take at the moment. We just need numbers. Massive effort against Arsenal and Chelsea, after them we were totally ruined and form plummeted. We lost the game after Chelski without even trying. Could be happening again. Shows just how thin and weak our squad is now we have sold/released so many without replacements in place.
I'm HOPING Saturday was a 'one-off' and we'll at least be attacking again when we 'the Birds play the Bees' (just for you Cromer!!). Should we lose in West London ..................
So when we had Wildschut and Jerome everybody was saying don't play them, they're **** but now they're saying we are getting rid of our best players. The mind boggles
I don't accept this 'lack of effort' label on Saturday's match. We started well, but failed to make it count. The Blades then made their pressing game tell to twist possession in their favour and then scored a soft goal through a ruck of players. That allowed them to play the 'away game' by sitting deep and playing on the counter. Tettey's error gave them a second 'soft' goal. Heads didn't drop though and we did get one back thanks to Vrancic and Pinto. United deserved to win in the end, but because of their strong play and a bit of luck, not lack of effort on our part.
I have said a lot, play Wildschut. He has pace, flair and directness, which we don't have in the team. When we loaned him to a team going for promotion I was even more amazed at the stupidity. I never wanted us to buy him in the first place, admittedly. But we spent such stupid money on him. To not play him, and let him go on loan is just madness. A promotion contender thinks he would improve their side, but he's too sh*t for us to play. It's mental. If you buy him for stupid money, and our team is so slow and backwards. A player with Pace, and just wants to take players on and get to the by-line, and we spent about 5-7M on is in the reserves. Maddening. Jerome has been poor, but What he said when he signed for Derby made a lot of sense, and is probably why we have been so poor. Training is obscene. I've also heard the same from people who work in the club. "they train every day, they are so much fitter now". Well, yes, they might look fitter and slimmer, but they are too knackered to do much in a game!
Yes, fair comment Rick and if We'd had had a shot near the end as opposed to trying to 'walk it into the goal', we could have shared the points - won even if we hadn't gifted them their 2nd goal.

So, we have one MF McClean now back at Aberdeen, nearly one direct winger Hernandez from a German 2nd Div. side and? We are all of one accord, we need a striker. So where do we get a cheap.striker from? Does DF utilise an existing U23 player in Abraham or does he get in a loan playing a bit part in another team? Striker rumours seem thin on the ground at present.
Bloody hell. I know of him. He's not massively rated. Again, can't we promote a Ramsey or Aarons rather than loan an untested youth player from another club? I thought the good thing about DF is that he develops academy players? And again, he's another signing that will get loaned out or stuffed in the youth teams. This is not what our club needs!
Don't say something negative! 1950 or whatever his name is, will say something hurtful to you! Just say "this is another good! our club is doing such a good" and smile.
