to be honest not sure if that was a tactical thing or a personnel thing. You tried to outplay City with a high line at the Etihad and got murdered
It was a good opportunity wasted, but I don't think it was that portentous, tbh. Let's see how we react in the next game before we get too gloomy. We really need to develop a better strategy for these games, though - because we come up against them so often.
Hence the probably in the "how we'll set up [probably]" from my earlier post. We've had a lot of injuries but the back 5 with 3 in front has been fairly common in games against teams that will come at us and has been played with lots of different players in the starting 11. Generally, it's been successful. However, Mauricio Pochettino likes to throw in the odd bat-**** crazy decision, like Son at wing-back from time to time. Sissoko up front in not impossible when he's in that mood. Attacking Citeh was just asking for punishment and we were lucky it was just the 4. I watched it in a pub full of non-Spurs, who all knew who I support, wishing that I was anywhere else. I've no idea what the result will be at Anfield but I'd be surprised if he decided to repeat the Citeh formation and tactics. I won't be watching it in public for very long if we do, as we'll get battered and rightly so.
