I really enjoyed the discussions on this website - so much more thoughtful than say the mostly negative comments on the wobby site.
However, I have become increasingly disheartened with the continuing snide, arrogant, inaccurate, insulting ,opinion presented as fact, rude, unnecessarily provocative, antagonistic and generally unpleasant posts, all from just one member.
I tried mild retorts - no effect. I tried equivalent responses - things just got worse.
Henceforth I shall not be accessing this site again at all, including the pub quiz which I really liked, and the thoughtful discussions from everyone else on the brexit, politics threads which are thought provoking and interesting.
    Farewell.

I presume if the worse did happen he wouldn't stick around for a season in the Championship - lets hope we don't have to find out!

Lets hope our home form picks up or Arsenal/Liverpool and Spurs have an off day as they can...

Certainly wouldn't want to be going to Old Trafford on the final day needing something!

I would be very sad if you left the forum JTB. I have welcomed your contributions which speak from your experiences and are well received by almost all of us. When you read that people have been discouraged from being regular contributors it is never mentioned that this works both ways. I do read just about every post and know full well how much certain attitudes can be frustrating, but it has always been a very open one following the days of the BBC forum that was heavily censored. I hope you will reconsider, and not simply walk away because of one person.

The ignore button is always an option.

I suspect that just leaving would be seen by the idiot as a victory - and give him some strange pleasure. At least give it a try.

A little censorship would not be a bad thing Frenchie......we don't need to go to the other extreme.

Would your censorship ideas include: clique opinions only, lefty opinions only, anti Brexit opinions only?

No wonder so many posters have left, Putin would be proud of you.

I think that if you have read all of the recent posts on here then you know why the latest poster has left. You are not too stupid as not to realize that the problems here do not arise because of your political opinions. They arise for all the reasons which Bodbo mentioned - namely your provocation, your goading and insulting of other posters - plus, of course, their reactions. It may be enjoyable for you, but for others it makes the forum a less pleasant place to be. You can be as Tory as you like, as pro Brexit as you like - it would be boring if we all thought the same. Just give other posters a little respect, and remember that their opinions are just as valid as your own.

He knows all this, he just takes pleasure from causing division and winding everyone up. I would love to have a pro-Brexit Tory on here that actually wants to debate in a civilised way, it would make that thread much more interesting and thought-provoking. Instead we just get daily links to his favourite comics, attacks on France whenever he wants the conversation changed to a topic that doesn't suit him and various other goadings/provocations.

Why a so-called Watford fan would take such joy in destroying this little community I do not know...

The problem with this analysis is that any poster expressing an opinion which differs from the narrow spectrum allowed by the controlling clique is abused to such an extent they just leave.

Leo returned and tried his best to encourage an acceptance of a wider range of viewpoint but was immediately attacked so he withdrew because of the aggression of some left wing posters. You have finally exposed your desire for censorship, it is pathetic that some posters cannot just rely on their ability to offer a reasoned argument.

This is not a desire for censorship of political views - which you know well. It is a desire to protect our community from insulting behaviour. If you were to rely on reasoned argument then we would all get on very well - but no, you have insulted, goaded or belittled nearly all of us at some time or other - yet apparently it is our fault !

There are more Conservatives than supporters of any other political parties in the UK. The majority that voted in the EU referendum chose Brexit.

The controlling clique on this forum need to ask themselves why nobody from these groups wish to post their views on this forum. The answer is simple. As soon as anybody expresses a view which is not within an acceptable narrow range they are immediately abused so simply disappear. Why would a casual visitor want to put themselves in the firing line?

I post a sample PM from somebody that lasted only two weeks.

Just thought I would touch base as I have not been moved to post again on this biased board. So they have now driven Leo away too. I guess he came back a bit more right wing than before and that is not allowed here. The oh so reasonable Mr Yorkie ( a follower of the Dalai Lama he says but shows no compassion and does not condemn the use of the word scum against moderate Tories) Andy is a piece of work isn't he? A Christian without Christian values - not sure I buy his "work problems" story either. Toby is surely the most ignorant of all while BB jut posts snide and hides.
    Ugly board
There are others that are better.
But you give me pleasure watching your sole battle so keep up the good work while you can be bothered.
