I'm finding it hard to believe that Roofe asked to be taken off cos he was tired.

Had Roofe scored 2 goals, and aiming for his hat trick, would he have claimed to be tired, I think not.

Roofe trains the same as every other player, he didn't run himself ragged, he did as much running
as he did in other games he started, he doesn't start every game, there was a full 7 days between games.

However, not so long ago I mentioned "could TC be over training the players" it seems someone in the link
got a leak on players saying they were training harder than they did under Monk.....could it be the main problem?.......read it and see what you think.

In regards to training, the more you train the fitter you should get? I linked to a Wkik Leeds Page the other day in regards to staff,
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leeds_United_F.C. I was surprised at the depth, we even have a dedicated fitness coach.

Can’t personally understand Roofe being tired, not like he has played every game. In regards to training more, it could be extra time on the training field working on tactics and set pieces? Certainly looks like they could do with it at times.

    Broad brush bollocks!

If they were over-trained, they'd all be knackered & asking to come off.

What utter nonsense. Any excuse for a pop at TC. Are you sure you support Leeds?

Roofe didn't ask to come off, but never let facts get in the way of a WUM.

I understand what you're saying Ristac, but you can over train, to the point the body takes longer to fully recover; if there is double training sessions per day, or most days, then the body wouldn't be recovering fast enough, or sufficient enough, thus slowing the body down and / or in many cases causing fatigue. Tiredness, feeling drained or feeling fatigued also affects the mental and Psychological capabilities.

I know some will say but the club have their doctors and physio experts, but it's not them that's putting the lads through training sessions.

If you ask any boxing coach, athletics coach or swimming coach, they'll tell you athletes can be over trained which can, and does create a negative effect.

Anyone remember working hard all week, doing pretty much the same thing, using the same muscles etc day in day out, then feeling tired or drained come Friday evening, or Saturday morning, it's pretty much the same thing.

I just read an article where the players had a light training session after arriving in Spain, then double training sessions are planned for the rest of the time in Spain.

Well according to TC he did ask to come off because he was empty.
Or do you say that TC is lying about that?

But like I said, double training session could be fitness or it could be set pieces, it might not be strenuous.

Over training would indicate the late fatigue the team shows at the end of some matches

Well if you are overtraining, you have to train less and a lot less. It is actually more difficult to get back into shape after overtraining than it is to get into shape if you are just not fit.

I hear what you're saying Ristac, but it's not rest, the body is still being put through it's paces.

It's been mentioned quite a few times that some players are looking tired......I'm not saying it's the problem, but I think it's a big part of the problem.
I just asked the question to get feedback and opinions......:emoticon-0148-yes:

If you listen to the whole TC interview that's not what he said. He said at half time he asked the forwards to let him know when they were empty so he could judge when to make his substitutions. Roofe was just doing what he was told and TC made the call.

Not agreeing or disagreeing, just giving feedback and an opinion as a possibility ;) <ok>

I have seen posts many times in the past where fans have said why do we always tire and look empty in the second half or towards the end of a game, they have suggested we are not training hard enough.

I would imagine the fitness coach works out a fitness plan for the players? Maybe he isn't doing his job properly, who knows...

Maybe Roofe had been reading some of Leeds Lover's exceedingly boring posts at halftime

    So draining
