That’s the English media for you and to be honest, some of our fans think he is that kind of player. In his defence, I do like Lallana because he at least wants the ball and doesn’t treat it like a hot potato. He’s a good squad player but nothing special.
Unfortunately, there was no one else to turn to. From having a good XI and bench, then we sold Coutinho and now not using Sturridge, we can really see how thin we are. Now imagine if one of the front 3 get injured or if we need to rotate.
The Studge thing. I think at some point you have to take it that the player isn't reliable because of injury and look to who you have available on a regular basis. I think Klopp made his decision based on that. I quite like Solanke and think he'll do well for us.
Sturridge is absolutely toast mate. I have also said this about coutinho... but got told we'd not miss coutinho as we are better without him.... The formation yesterday was bizarre. If ox was told to stand c.f. ok but why tell him that when he should be standing at right wing.why was Gomez left on? Why did wijnaldum run 10 yards ahead of the ball First half and why did can do the same second half. Why are two cms out primary creative force now. Only klopp knows.
As I said pre game.we need the first chance to go in.when it does we can kill teams. If it doesn't we are bang in trouble.
In games like this, we don’t need him run around like a mad man. His movement is still exceptional and given we have majority of possession, he doesn’t need to press as much. What we need from him is his quality on the ball. He’s not the long term option but losing him now means we have to rely on Ings and Solanke.
Yesterday showed us, apart from the fact that Coutinho was always going to be missed, how far away we are from City as a top team that can swat away smaller teams. We may have beaten them but when they are faced with this kind of opposition the likes of Silva and De Bryune will provide the bullets for Sane and Aguero. Our front three may be top class but our midfield need serious improvement if we are going to challenge the likes of City in the future.
The blueprint for success is now well known. We score in the first 30 minutes and we win by 4 plus goals. However, we are in trouble if they score first and then defend with discipline and determination. We simply are not able to break down a parked bus defence. We just have to hope that the first happens more often and that managers do not go down Big Sam or Pullis route and instead come to play football and try to beat us.
Bad day at the office nothing much just an over reaction from some fans. You will not win all games. All I want to see is a similar reaction to the loss at Wembley. Win our next game and go again. The only thing Klopp needs to ensure is if we are playing a park the bus team, Moreno and TAA are way better than Gomez and Robertson. When we play a team willing to attack us, the latter come in handy. Still trying to figure out what happened to Robertson's crossing.
IMO the entire team strucutre broke down. Salah's job has been run in behind. force a team deep. he was out on half way with firmino hiding up top or ox.. or can or whoever felt like it. Same with mane.. ox. get ****ing wide and cause problems I would have liked firmino to come out deep and then play the ball in but he rarely did. I would have liked ox wide right to support gomez. he rarely did. I would have liked mane to pull left to give robertson some out ball. he never did I would have liked can to run like he did v city. he didn't. zero urgency. I would have liked wijnaludm to morph into milner and go wide but he didn't he was utter rubbish It was abysmal.
A creative midfielder is hardly a million miles away is it? Sure, we need more than that to be on par with Man City's squad but that's just unrealistic.
Lets be honest here Klopp is to blame here because we knew how he would play the game as he is very predictable with his style of football. Liverpool are a great team and in my view would be even better with a coach who has more game plans in his locker.....Liverpool would beat the swans 8 times out of 10 quite easily but Klopp should know that a team at the bottom with a new manager who has improved the results will fight tooth and nail for a draw let alone a win and if that takes parking the bus to do it then carlos will and it worked.....It was bad planning by Klopp from start to finish as he could see after 10 minutes the way we we set up to play......A bad day at the office and lessons must be taken onboard when you play a team at the bottom fighting for their lives....
Or the players aren't listening to him? He said after the game that players didn't hold their positions, couldn't possibly have been referring to Salah and Mane not staying wide could he? What's he going to do? Drop them? Edit... didn't realise that was posted by a Swansea fan
