According to the Nottingham Post, all 3,366 tickets of the original allocation have been snapped up by fans, with over 1,000 being sold within 24 hours of them going on sale. They've now taken up the full 3,800 allocation.

It's going to feel like a home game for them.

Before Shankly Liverpool had spent 8 seasons outside of the top flight. The rest were spent in the top flight. So I would say their natural level pre-Shankly level was Division One.

I do hope it won't be as rough as that 1976 Bremner debut game.

The only game I was ever lobbed out of - out the gate on North Road then snuck back in at Nth stand, just before kick-off.

One memory of that game was stood on Bunkers. A mate said there's a bunch of Forest fans down there. A copper overheard this and asked him how he knew they were Forest fans. You just do he replied. He called a sargeant over and told him my mate had said there was a group of Forest fans lower down. The sargeant said they knew but were waiting for them to kick off as they had already made a number of arrests and a few more would beat the high for the previous season. Of course it did, but they soon hightailed it.
Unsurprisingly more City fans got their collars felt than Forest ones in the ensuing skirmish.
Anyone thinking ****itude and ineptitude by Humberside Police is a recent phenomenon is sadly mistaken.

There was also a pitch invasion by the Notts toughs in the East Stand just as their infiltrators revealed themselves.

No bananas thrown though unusually for a 70s game.

Looking down Bunkers they were right hand side of the goal - stood out like the proverbial sore thumbs, I didn't know the copper story though; I'd like to say I'm shocked by it, but I'm not.

" The pleasure" . Not sure many are thinking they are missing out on "the pleasure" of supporting the team play ****e football and not scoring. I enjoyed the matches I attended when Slutsky was in charge. At least it was entertaining.

That's right. You probably knew my mate. Could tuck his hair in his belt. Though he normally kept it tucked in a claret and blue hat. Something which saved some of us making our way through some West Ham fans when exiting Upton Park one night after a League Cup game who were rather agitated and aggressive despite the fact they had won 2-0.

Strange. Some of my most enjoyable Saturdays were watching City when they were crap. Meeting up with a bunch of mates for a few pints, not a large crowd but all real fans there to support the team whatever and not interested who the opposition were. You were free to gravitate to where you wanted and stand with who you wanted.A far better "match day experience" than today's sterile, regulated experience.

It's a pleasure many are denied. Make the most of it while you can.

    How ****ing sad is that?

And this is what it has come to all c/o the Allams.

Generations of families and mates support and loyalty to Hull City A.F.C. broken by them.

    An absolute disgrace.

    Frig me.

    First AN now you.

Hard to explain to some "fans" that I genuinely do not give a **** who we are playing against, nor do I give a **** how **** we are.

Probably thinking of the renowned Sergeant Sargeant who ejected me from Bunkers more than once. Big bugger he was, absolutely fearless.

Saturday March 24th we have no game. If it's an FA Cup day and we're still in it then we'll have to rearrange but we could organise a "little drink with friends" in The Swan and Cygnet in Swanland. Just a few close friends, say about 2,500 or so having a quiet lunchtime drink and a good old sing song in the village.:bandit:

Because they are fans of a little team from a town 9 out of 10 football fans couldn't pinpoint on a map excited at the thought of a cup tie against one of the big boys, the best run club in the Football League.
