They've been the better side here and are now one quarter away from the Superbowl after years of being the joke team in the NFL. You can't write New England off but they are struggling here despite being odds-on favourites...

I'm not sure who to root for - Jacksonville the underdogs, or New England civilisation.

20-17, 8 minutes to go, given what happened with the Vikings v Saints last weekend, anything is possible.

The Minnesota Vikings are the only NFL team who didn't disrespect their flag or anthem. I think I'll root for them.

What is there to disrespect Strolls? The players aren't the victims here. They've made a very good living and lifestyle out of the sport. Anyway, I think I'd rather they kept politics out of all sport. In fact keep politics out of everything, I don't agree with none of it anymore.

Patriots take the lead. Of the last four they are the only ones with a top class quarterback, probably the best ever, and in the last few minutes it has shown, the Jaguars qb Bortles is very average and couldn’t get them down the pitch at all when they last had possession.

Great! I'm going back to following the Patriots. Who can forget Brady's performance in the comeback v the Falcons last year?

They're black people in America, mate. I have no clue what that means, but if they want to protest, I respect them. It's a **** game anyway, and I should know because I went to a game once.

Almost inevitably the Patriots win. They are a machine, with a great big brain in Brady. Though following them for the one remaining game is a bit like following Liverpool in the 80s. I have a passing interest in the Colts, who have been **** this season (and for several years now), but don’t really follow anyone in particular. Through bitter experience I find that an allegiance leads to disappointment.

Well done the Jaguars though, took them all the way and have had a great season after being a joke for years.

Managed to watch a bit via the CBS sports app and using VPN to fool it into thinking I was in the US. Bit of buffering but not bad, and chuffed not to be paying Sky anything. I assume it was on there somewhere.

Vikings v Eagles up next but I’m too knackered to be bothered with it, especially as it takes so long.

I’ve been to one as well.

It’s better on the telly. I’m growing to really like it though.

Tom Brady is a real life superhero without a cape. I only watched it as I still have Sky, not that it offers much nowadays. It will be gone once our discount runs out and I'm not paying for bloody BT Sport.

It's definitely better on the telly. I used to follow it quite avidly during the 80's and then drifted away from it but found it quite addictive in the last few years. Maybe it's time to drag up my Superb Owl thread.

Brady was top drawer in the final quarter, carved open the Jags when the pressure was really on, the mark of a great QB. Eagles thrashed the Vikings in Philadelphia so it's a Patriots v Eagles Superbowl which is pretty much the two form teams...

Massive night for Bristol city. I can see Ashton gate from the roof of the building I'm working in, probably a mile as the crow flies. I'm going to get on the roof later and listen to the roar around kick off time.

Our time will come. Hope bcfc get a spectacular result tonight.

Can't see it myself, I hoping for a sending off of their star player, maybe a couple of tight hamstrings and some seriously tired legs for next Saturday
