I'd forgotten about that exchange. Now if you'd mentioned padded seats, I might have joined you! Then again, many would argue that I'm amply padded already.
I was led to believe you are a twonk you actually speak quite a lot of sense. But, let’s assume TC earns a couple of hundred grand a year, I can’t feel too sorry for him if he calls it wrong. Don’t misunderstand me I am not being negative (perish the thought) but I was bewildered yesterday and a bit at Ipswich last week by his tactics. Not many get to earn that kind of money and I for one would expect to be answerable for my mistakes if I did
McDermott couldn't have done a worse job if he'd tried, was apparently on 800 grand a year, drove away in his Porsche and everyone felt sorry for him. If you're old enough Wilko would have bewildered you at times, all managers do. By all means question and criticise, but the problem is people go too far and make decent managers out to be useless, when useless ones could do no wrong.
No mate, he rolled his ankle and looked in real pain. Happened in our half at 3-2 just before Roofe went off. Can’t remember if he stumbled or if it was in a challenge but he did run over to TC as Roofes number came up and maybe asked to go instead - who knows? Despite the result and you lot hiding in Billy’s loved the day and hope you got home safe and sound give me a shout whenever you want to come over again and I will arrange, how easy is Stansted for you??
The big one for me was why did he delay the Pennington substitution ? He was stripped and ready, 4th official holding the board waiting for a break-in play. We had a goal kick and he signaled to the 4th official to wait, 20 seconds later we are 2-0 down and then he makes the substitution. Totally baffled by that one. The others changes they didn't work out but he had the best of intentions, unfortunately twice Shaughnessy didn't close his man down well enough to stop them getting a shot off and Dallas needlessly lost it on the half way line from our throw which resulted in the 4th goal. The one big positive for TC was changing to a back 3 with Beradi switching to the left, pushing De Bock higher up and getting Hernandez on the ball. Worked to perfection and Millwall were totally shellshocked but unfortunately some of our players ran out of steam and we couldn't keep up the possession and tempo for the whole of the 2nd half.
Feck me yes I’m old enough to remember Wilko In all seriousness I try and say it as I see it. Judged to be a happy clappy for it but I’m not and can say when I think something is blatantly wrong. I think TC effed up badly yesterday and his tactics are quite predictable. If he learns and has a good few wins I will say so too. You’ll certainly never write my match report before kick off
Mate, I’m actually not needlessly slagging TC or any player, it happened. Just struggle when Roofe and PML go off in quick succession and I think he knew Lasogga was struggling when Roofe went. Why would it seem a good choice to put Shaughnessy on? Sacko would have offered something. In the same vein, at 3-2 we were taking free kicks in their half and passing 2 yards to try and play possession footie and kill the clock. Trouble is, there was still about 8 minutes plus stoppage time and we kept losing the ball. On its head, Millwall did the opposite, all game, every corner, free kick, throw in etc was designed to get in our box for Morison to fight for, simple and effective (very similar to Cardiff). We are not good enough to keep the ball off the opposition for long periods and invariably end up in bother, just don’t get it. Certainly, if we had gone 4-2 we would have won so why not put the ball in the mix and make them fight? They did and it worked.
Totally agree...and like you say hope TC learns from it. Unfortunately they all seem to have been on the same coaching course and as soon as they go in front they follow the manual.
Didn't agree with you getting banned and I actually agreed with you re shagger being a useless twat but you used to mention it in every post and that's what pissed people off Btw pretty sure Jerril had resigned as mod by then so it wasn't down to him
Can't believe no one realised you'd been turned away at Billys mate, gutted - I thought you'd gone. OLOF, Shaks and I had one for you later on anyway. Flight cancelled, stuck at airport Ptemier Inn till tomorrow. Stansted is easy, Easyjet. Which means it's easy to get to Belfast too, so let me know if you're ever thinking of bringing Jan over to do the Causeway or anything.
I think he was still a mod, but he certainly hadn't resigned as an arsehole. I kept mentioning him because I couldn't believe he was still our manager.
