Not even shaks can shift enough to make this set up appear better than Cellino and Monks last year. If Rad has spent any cash bringing this together the man is a fecking idiot.
I didn’t say anything of the sort. What I am saying is that almost unbelievably Rad, Orta and TC are worse. The evidence quite clearly shows it. Less points than at this stage last year, lower league position and a team that is clearly leaderless and largely gutless. I look forward to getting my money.
So by your reckoning,of how it works, after 7 games, this team was one of the best ever.Or does your system only work when it suits you.
As I said at the time to much ridicule. It was obvious to anyone who understands football ( so that rules you out ) that our league position after 9 games was false. We had beaten a bunch of teams in crisis ( often luckily). If you ever took off your rose tinted you would have noticed. The wallies out fought and bullied us at their place and ever since our form has been pretty much relegation standard. As always the more games played the more realistic the league position. It’s 50/50 if we even stay above the wallies this season under this set up. It is that bad and glory was right.
But after playing every team once we were top 6,surely that's how you should gauge it.You haven't got a clue, maybe you should stick to shopping and leave the supporting to fans.
A lot of people blaming TC....but on reflection, Radz has set us up to fail this season with his over optimistic expectations. We finished 7th last year with experienced players like Green, Bartley and Wood. It was expecting too much asking an unknown foreign coach and a bunch of unknown foreign players with no Championship experience to not only replicate last year, but to better it. I personally think this is why we are now seeing all the red cards and indiscipline because the bar was set too high and now the wheels are coming off. Radz says we are going for autos next season! That should probably be revised to top 6 and only if we keep Saiz and Pontus and if he spends some more cash wisely.
Rad has been around for a while. It wouldn't surprise me if Monk was his choice and the better signings down to him. I think we have moved on, we play on the front foot and cause teams more problems. It's the points and league position at the end of the season that counts.
Yep we will have less and will finish lower. The league is the poorest for years and standing still would have seen us nail a top three spot at worse.
I don't think it's the poorest, I think it's more wide open. I must have been poorer in the past for us not to be in a relegation battle with the managers and players we had.
Happy Clappy Clive, that's me. We were mid table with a manager who accentuated the divide between the English and Italian players and is now manager of a women's team. We've never been in a proper relegation fight since the one we lost.
Whilst you are correct, standing still wasn't really an option. Bartley and Taylor were not ours contractually to keep and Monk had been tapped up by the Boro and knew Wood probably was leaving as he'd turned down a new contract offer. My main criticism was that we sold Wood for the first decent offer and so we blinked too soon. Could have got £30m in this window and we would be higher up the League for sure.
