1-1 FT. Awful performance. Poor all over the park.
Didn't create nearly enough, looked shaky at the back and were very sloppy in the middle.
Lots of poor individual performances and Pochettino took too long to change anything.
Makes the holiday in Barcelona look like a really poor idea.

2 points dropped. Some dreadful performances out there today.

I fear that the teams above us are simply too strong. Next 3 games will define our season.

  4. Looked off the pace and not aware of what was around him.
Know he's still finding his way back, but he needs to offer more when he comes on

Truly poor performance...only Davies, Vorm and Vertongen played well.

United, Liverpool and Arsenal in our next 3 matches...2 points off 4th when they have a game in hand so that will be 5 points off.

We need to seriously improve or the top 4 will be out of our reach after we play Arsenal on 10th March

This game confirms it 100%. If we have top 4 aspirations this season, we need signings. No excuses.

Llorente may as well go on holiday as Poch doesn’t rate him. We need more goal scoring options

More like strong enough to pounce on our inconsistencies.

I still do not believe that Pochettino is actually ruthless
enough as a manager. There are players in the squad who
need to be told, beginning with the starting XI at Newport,
that unless they start fronting up in the PL games, they can
make other plans the nights the Juventus games are on.

really poor performance today. Everything’s been said throughout the thread during the game.

Liverpool are bound to win tomorrow which makes the results even worse. A lot of pressure on us going into the next 3 games. If we don’t sort ourselves out against the big teams, we,re gonna find ourselves a long way behind.

  10. What was worrying was that when things weren't going well, the usual suspects were more interested in mixing it. Do they never learn!! <doh>

Awful. It was a bad performance anyway but that last 5 minutes just summed up the kind of stupidity that hobbled us today. Wanyama's shot and Lamela, then Sanchez playing backwards with seconds left.

So, so disappointing. We've got a tough run coming up too and we go into it potentially(if Liverpool win) well adrift.

    Absolute turd of a game.

Lost count the amount of times we gave away possession and yet again I have to criticise Poch for the lack of ambition with selection and subs. Things obviously aren't helped with Eriksen being ill but how has everyone but Pochettino seen that Sissoko shouldn't be anywhere near a football pitch let alone the first XI?! Then leaving subs so late on - along with bringing on a ****ing DM when we need a goal - just summed up a ****, annoying and stupid afternoon. Llorente must be wondering why on earth he joined us if he can't get on the pitch when we need a goal.

Alli, Son, Dembele and Sanchez were atrocious.

If we don't get a new CM this window we need shooting - and on today's evidence we could definitely do with Malcom (or someone else) now instead of a supposed deal for the summer.

Dembele's 30 years old, FFS. He doesn't have any excuses.
He's been much better recently but today he was back to the poor form that had everyone worried.

If we’re to have any chance in our upcoming fixtures, we need a fit Toby back pronto!

  15. Not now particularly. The squad we have, if they actually bother to turn up, are more than able. And buying in January seldom brings an immediate improvement.
However, there are 4/5 out there today who need a kick up the ass and one (at least) who should be offloaded ASAP.

Jermaine Defoe’s sat in the Sky studio. He’d come back in a heartbeat. Would be a great sub option

  17. I would let Sonny off - he never got any service. But I would add Aurier and Dier to the walk of shame.
And I'm assuming that Sissoko isn't even worth further comment.....

What worries me is how 'Jekyll and Hyde' we have become this season. We either create truckloads of chances (often scoring truckloads too if the opposition are naive enough to play football), or diddly squat. There seems to be nothing, or perhaps no-one we can turn to to make a difference when we're not clicking in the final third. Just saw on the BBC that between minutes 40 and 95 WE DIDN'T REGISTER A SHOT ON TARGET. That is insane. Given the run of games we have coming up and the set of results registered by our rivals this weekend, that is insane.

Son is literally the only 'impact sub' in the entire squad. Lamela was never good as a sub and always looked better as a starter. Llorented should in theory be able to impact a game but apparently Poch disagrees. There is just nobody you can look at on the bench and say 'don't worry he can rescue us' as we used to have when Jermain was here. That bloody 17 year old making his debut did more in his brief cameo than all 3 of our subs; he could've and should've scored the winner from them. Where are those players at Spurs?? Are we not interested in them?? Do we go into every single game with an arrogance that we'll have 28 shots on target and 4 or 5 of them will go in??

For me, it is pointless lamenting lack of ambition in the line-up and subs when in reality the root of the problem is the way in which Poch approaches squad management and, more importantly, recruitment during transfer windows.

Either because he knows more about football than any of us or because he can't admit that he was a waste of moeny?
