England win the 3rd one dayer,, England 302-6 and Aussies finsh their 50 overs at 286-6. Buttler a fine 100 NO and Woakes 53 NO saw England home. 3-0 up in the 5 match series.
He certainly is, I just wonder if he had been fit and Stokes in the test side whether we would have given them a run for their money?
England have won 18 of the last 20 completed one day internationals.... Great stat and shows the progress we are making. Add Ben Stokes into that team and we have one of the best teams in the world.
Has anyone seen anything of Jofra Archer in The Big Bash? The lad looks a superstar and is eligible for England.
Read an article on him earlier today, and seen him in highlights. Anyone who can bowl like he does at the death needs to be in consideration. Is it worth give him a cap just to get him unable to play for anyone else? On a good note he bowled very well in the Championship too so hopefully the quick bowler our test team needs!
I'd never heard of him, but having just watched highlight clips and read up about him, certainly one to watch.
I hope Archer plays for the West Indies rather than England. World cricket needs a competitive West Indies team.
He's just to much of exciting of a talent for England to miss out on. We need to give him a cap ASAP.
I've seen conflicting reports about his eligibility, but the most informed ones are suggesting he won't be eligible until 2022 under the ECB's self-imposed 7-year residence rule (far stricter than the ICC's 3-year one). Seems that even having a British passport (and an English father) doesn't make him eligible.
Yep years til Archer is eligible, like most of the best West Indian players he'll not play test cricket, he'll earn so much more on a good county contract with spells in the BBL and probably IPL too, shame really, he was superb last year for Sussex taking wickets and getting some good runs too
You think the Shane Warne years were bad for England? Just imagine it happening again with a Mick Hucknall lookalike... http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/42788659
Highlights are on the espncricinfo site.....got a good googly but some of the wickets he took were down to some seriously god awful shots! Players slogging with 50 odd runs needed in about 30 overs....really dumb stuff
I watched the highlights earlier, some terrible decision making by our players but at 19 you sometimes make these mistakes. They are unlikely to have come up against a player with a googly that good. Positives Harry Brook looked excellent up until this match.
It means the game is over in a day, rather than playing the same opponent a billion times over the course of a few months. What isn't to like?
