Only a matter of time before Mark Hughes is appointed citing a shared ambition. They won’t be relegated, not on his watch.
The interest from Everton earlier on had an impact especially as he said he would have been interested in the roll. He also had little say in transfers. Strange time to change managers. Bristol City and Lee Johnson Last season the fans wanted him out. This season he has lead the club to semi finals of cup and top half finish. Maybe patience is the word but not one you hear a lot in football. Strange decision
Problem is that money has skewed the thinking of owners especially those in the top flight. The thinking is that they must stay in the premier league because to lose that sort of money throws all their plans out the window, but until they set up a closed shop 3 teams will always be relegated, as we know to our cost....... Sky and everything associated with top flight football is where the blame really lies.......
Changing managers seems to be working for relegation-threatened Hammers, Palace and possibly Stoke. But Watford are mid-table...
Listened to Radio. He had his head turned with move to Everton. Upset players and board and results weren't good after. Board will go for another foreign manager not a Hughes.
and Dyche in the paper saying it won't be long before players are paid £1m a week and they deserve it. Football has lost the plot
That's exactly what happened Ellers. We have been in free fall since Everton came calling and I get the impression his conduct has not been altogether professional. It's all well and good for people to point to our league position but it means nothing when the chasing pack have woken up and we're only 6 points off the zone. On 30 December we were 33/1 to go down. We are now 8s
I for one Have liked the way Watford got up and have competed in the Premiership. Fair play to you. I don't want to see you relegated and I doubt you will go down. Now if you were a Chelsea fan then that would be a different story.
Watford have had nine managers in the last five years as they appoint the Malaga head coach Javi Gracia as the new boss.
None of their last seven managers have lasted a year in the job. Zola was the last one July 2012 - December 2013. A bit like us in the second half of the noughties.
