Chin up Marcos it won't always be this way. Must admit I feel more demoralised after yesterday than I have done for a few seasons. Think it was the roller coaster of emotions. All the talk around us before the kick off was millwall hadn't won away all season so it was nailed on they would today. Sure enough after the first 10 mins when the game should have been over the inevitable happened. The thing I find most frustrating is the feeling of been spoken to like an idiot by Christiansen and all the pr bollocks that we have to suffer. I have zero interest in waving plastic flags and messages of togetherness. Assemble a team good enough to win promotion and all the above will follow naturally, the best possible pr. But I suppose that will cost too much. Why did the club feel it necessary to make a song and dance about saiz donating 25 grand to the young kids fund. All very commendable but should have been kept private not used as a pr tool to exonerate saiz and his behaviour. The second half was everything I want in a game even if it wasn't the result I wanted. The look on my young lads face when the 3rd went in was fantastic, but then our inept head coach managed to grab defeat from the jaws of victory. I think if we stick with our current policy and plan it'll be a few years yet before we reach the promised land again. And I don't know if I still have the energy or enthusiasm to see it through. But then again a few wins and some positive spin and I might believe we're world beaters again. Very fickle us Leeds fans.
This is going to sound really crass but ..... we will be fine. This year, perhaps, into the play-offs but next year we will be awesome - keep the faith guys, please ?
Thing to remember m8,the opinions of them who go. While the shoppers and them having a curry are entitled to there opinions, always add a pinch of salt.
Thanks very much for your kind words Marcos it was good to be able to put a face to the names I am familiar with. Thanks to you and WJ for enabling me to get there. If only they had played with the spirit shown in the second half and 11 men, but we badly need someone to organize the defence
I thought we’d recently appointed a specialist defence coach, it got me looking on Wiki, I think I must be confusing it with the set piece coach, either way I was surprised at what a large operation we had in place in regards to backroom staff https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leeds_United_F.C.
What about OLOF and Infidel the Gordon Strachan lookalike? In all seriousness great group of guys and would have a pint with any of you again - just not in Billy’s because the feckers wouldn’t let Ben in
Really good post this CT and I agree about stability. I was fizzing with TC yesterday because I think his substitutions invited the onslaught that any team with Wiedwald in goal would struggle against but maybe he will learn. Think he also needs to work out how we stop turning over possession so easily too. From memory, the disallowed goal and the second goal came from Wiedwald goal kicks coming straight back down our throats?? Can’t think of any team we have played against that is put back under pressure from their own throw ins and goal kicks as we are?? Anyway, onwards and upwards.
See Watford are doing a Cellino again as they just sacked Marco Silva, bet he wishes he had taken the Everton gig now
By the time he came off Lasogga could hardly walk, complete passenger. Didnt see what happened but unable to continue. Might just be unfit.
From the guys who were there yesterday can you give your opinion on why the defence seemed to fall apart. I though LVB played well tackled well chased back well, pssed the ball interceptions and chased up the wing. What happened was it a midfield issue that they didnt stop wall players going through them and into our back line
Link to the goals: http://www.okgoals.com/match-highlights-1516472751---40 Their first chance, Cooper missed tackle... Our keeper gets a hard time when he parries the ball into play, their first goal was Cooper heading it straight to their player and into a danger zone rather than head it out. It looks like Cooper is trying to blame the new LB? Their second goal good cross but Berardi should have been nearer his man. Their third goal, hit and hope from near the center circle into our box, their player between three defenders he still gets a good header down nobody marking the guy who scores. Fourth goal Shaughnessy is trundling alongside, waving his arm around, allows shot to come in and deflects into bottom corner
10 men Doc - but there is no snapping, snarling defensive element to our attacking midfield, defence starts immediately in front of our defensive mids 30 yards from goal. My take anyway. No Strachan/Speed/McAllister-style aggressive defending in their half. Hard with 10 men I know, but they waltzed though us first half with 11 too.
