Even though Stoke won, and West Ham, Bmouth, WBA all got draws, I'm relatively content with today's set of results. Only thing I'd have changed would have been an Everton winner. Huddersfield, Brighton and Newcastle all losing was massive; I still maintain that we need to finish above at least one of them to survive. They should be our absolute three key targets, especially given that they're all on poor form. Watford and Palace losing is nice too. Yes dropping into the bottom three isn't nice, but it might just give the board a real wake-up call. And besides, we won't be in there for long if we do the business in our two cup finals against Brighton and WBA.
I have no particular fondness to Watford, but I do feel a little sorry for them. Get off to a cracking start to the season with a new appointment, only for a big fish to unsettle him to the point that he seemingly can no longer get his group to perform. The fans must be very frustrated.
Sounds like they feel the Everton approach ruined his focus. Come on les, he's an improvement at least!
Hmm, I'm not so sure. He hasn't managed to last longer than a season (or six months in England) since finishing up at Estoril in 2014. You've got to wonder why. With the fluttering at Everton, it's not too difficult to imagine he'll have an eye on a job on Merseyside - or elsewhere - within weeks of arriving here.
