And if we win you can pull out that WHL lane stat you're desperate to use I'm almost certain of defeat yet am still looking forward to it, not sure if I'm gonna watch it at my Spurs mates house or not though.
No, the National Anthem is: d d d d dd d d d d dd d d d d d d d d d d d d..d.d d d d d..d.d d d d d d..d.d d..d..d d d.....
To be honest, we should nit be in the position where we are sweating about losing to Spurs and remaining in the relegation zone. The signs were clear enough last season that we were in desperate need to a proven goal scorer as well as a leader to roll their sleeves up to take control of matters on the pitch when the performance isn't good enough. There are no characters at the moment in the current squad who have the personality of someone like Alan Ball or Jimmy Case. Bally must be turning in his grave if he could witness what has been served up this season. The whole personality of the team assembled by Adkins had total belief and the current squad is, in my opinion, similarly lacking in characters as the one that got relegated the first time. Instead the coaching staff almost seem to be on autopilot, the same mistakes and propensity to be out thought tactically happens every week. One good half is undone by a second when the opposition's changes to the line up are not countered by similar adjustments. This matter should have been addressed in the summer and even if you allow for a dip in form for one season, it is a huge slight on the current board that what little they have done has made matters worse. In the past a team like Spurs would be welcomed at either The Dell or St Mary's because they were one of those teams you always wanted to spank. There is always a smug satisfaction of beating Spurs - not quite as agreeable as tonking Arsenal but appealing because it disrupts their fan's pretentions and brings them down to earth . It is will be difficult game to get something out of but I just hope that that players wake up and realise that they have not given us anything to cheer about this season so far and are well overdue in putting this right. I just hope that they all step up to the plate this afternoon.
Had to think about that. Weren't we the last visiting team to win at WHL? I'll keep that up my sleeve for sure. Trouble is I can barely remember the last time we beat them at St Marys; I probably had hair then - and Gareth Bale hadn't left the valleys. For what it's worth, Tottenham has the crappiest High Road in Britain bar none, but that's not really football related and I've over used it anyway.
Last beat them at St Mary's 2-1 in 2005 if I remember or maybe 2-0 in our relegation season. Totally from memory and could be wrong. We also drew with Arsenal the next game? The one where Prutton got sent off for pushing over the ref and they had a last minute winner chalked off for offside. I'll google it and edit it EDIT: 1-0 Quashie: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_prem/4300435.stm Southampton 1-0 Tottenham please log in to view this image Nigel Quashie's first goal for Southampton earned a precious win in their survival bid and avenged their earlier 5-1 defeat at Tottenham. Quashie thumped in a close-range header from Mikael Nilsson's cross and Saints then defended doggedly and at times desperately to preserve their lead. Hmm. Doesn't look good....'to avenge the earlier 5-1 defeat'. Ah well at least is was 5-2.... EDIT2: Arsenal was the week before: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_prem/4279667.stm Told you my memory isn't that good any more
so match day and I am getting ready for my protest that have organised. no clothes so shouldn't take long to get ready today. hoping for a good show
Prediction, we are going to get absolutely tonked put in a dismal performance and stay in the bottom three until the end of the season. Of course MP2 will still be in charge, bemused at why he cant turn things around but still deluded enough to think he can. RK will still be chatting **** saying there's nothing to worry about and things are going to be okay and that investment is just around the corner. Gao will carry out his mission to asset strip as much as possible while sending out his muppets with sound bites about things are really okay and that we can bounce straight back from the Championship. KL will be having night time visits from her father after selling his legacy for a few pieces of gold. Steve Davis will still be captain of the team next year! We will be playing Pompey in 2 years time and Bournemouth will be the big club on the south coast. I cant wait for the cricket season to start and have started divorce proceedings against the Saints!
Prediction league have gone for 3 saints wins 5 draws 10 spurs wins Don't worry, that means nothing COYR
Realistically I think Saints have about a 20% chance of avoiding relegation this season with the current set up. My afore mentioned prediction has two absolute "will happen happen truths in it" KL will be haunted by her father for selling out his legacy to a Charlatan and Steve Davis will still be captain next year, everything else is open to conjecture. Oh and we will be buying a no name striker for 12m in this window and it wont be Guido. Saints are like budgies ...cheap cheap cheap!
