A lot of it went on back then, as I’ve alluded to - And I did try it. But if you’re trading, having to make quick and sober judgements on how to call it, you have to keep a clear(ish) head. So I Would maybe have a couple of pints at lunchtime, but no more.

Lewisham was a ****hole and the most beautiful place ever when I was growing up. A real mix of urban deprivation, crime and poverty as well as fantastic Caribbean culture, fruit and veg that I'd never even seen before at the market, a melting pot of black, white and Asian in the streets and shops and against the backdrop of tower blocks and railways lines, I found the green spaces, little streams, favourite trees and LSD

 

I stayed in a few places in London when I first moved down. Had 2 weeks in Brixton. First time I walked into a pub on a hot Saturday afternoon, asked for a drink and the lass behind the bar said, something along the lines of, this isn't your sort of pub mate, you should leave, try something further up the high street.

 

I hope Bambi uses his time wisely in the Cooler, mate, like I did.
