Sheff Utd took six seasons to get out of L1...We might as well add on another 4 and make it a round decade.
It does seem as though whatever Adkins is doing isn't working, you have to wonder if he did get new faces in this Jan would he be able to do any better? Not blaming Adkins yet, the damage when he joined may have been too much for anyone to put right.
What an awful result, there are no words to describe how important that game was. There is a simple justice. Someone is always guilty in the football game. No goals - no points. Let's not relegate and find another way to improve all key things like core squad for the future, team tactics and results. I hope it's still possible. What's next?
Do you seriously think the players who are going to be out of contract don't care? I just refuse to believe that. Easy after another dispiriting defeat to say the players don't care but I just think it's over simplistic.
When I said we couldn't beat teams around us and it would cost us just like last year I was told I was wrong.
Of course it's hard,it hurts the very thing we all love. The club has been through worse times than this,many thought them days had finally gone that glorious day at Wembley. We've still got to go to Burton and Birmingham... then the likes of Bristol, Mboro, Preston, Ipswich, and Brentford who are gunning for the play-offs. On current form if we pick up four points from those games it will be an achievement. We'll get jack **** from Wolves or Forest. We've got.. Villa, Cardiff, Sheff Utd, Leeds, Norwich, Millwall, QPR, Sheff Wed and Barnsley to come to us.. If we finish on 45pts we're toast.
Why wouldn't he be able to? Assuming they were players of his choice. It would mean more competition at least. I think people get rose tinted spectacles with Slutsky, the players just fell apart as the games wore on, the Sheffield United game was dreadful. Early on the opposition wouldn't have known the weaknesses in the team, but that period has long past.
I would hate to think that players go out on the pitch and don't care. I sure as hell don't know why they are not playing well for the full 90 minutes but I just can't get my had around the "don't care" thing. The fact that they are sportsmen means they have a compettive streak so surely they want to feel good about how they have played every game. A proper puzzle.
Ok we might go down but let’s go down trying. Nige cannot rely on what he has been given. We need some strength in the team. The Allams are fiddling while Hull burns. Ten will leave anyway in summer. We need a quick fix.
