I hope Filey has identified some decent boozers in Scarboro for the Not 606 away day?

I didn't know Retford existed before Hull Trains.

Personally, I've never been to Retford (only past it), but based on Trip Advisor's 'Top Ten Things To Do In Retford', I'd cough the £20 for delivery.

Retford has nothing to do to pass the time. Been there many times and there's not a weekend's worth of entertainment to be had. There's barely an hour's worth to tell the truth. Stay in Nottingham and pick up the stuff on the way back up?

Beer in London. I live in the place and generally pay £4 to £4.50 for a pint of real ale. Lager a little more. The £6-plus places are more confined to the touristy areas in my experience.

Back in 2005, four of us went to the Denmark v England friendly in Copenhagen.
(Ferry to Amsterdam, flight from Amsterdam to Copenhagen).

Of course we lost 4-1 because David James had been up all night playing Sonic the Hedgehog, or some other console related crap.......

It was £10 a pint in Copenhagen for Carslberg lager in 2005 !!!!!!
When it was my mates round, he gave me his wallet, "I'm off for a piss, get the round in"......
So of course I got the blond barmaid a drink too, and she took a tenner, the price of a drink.....
On his return he found he had just paid £50 for four pints of Carlsberg!!!!

Needless to say, this was the end of my England away days.

Bad news, I'm afraid. Either she'll top herself because you took her to Retford or you'll top yourself for suggesting it.

    Either way, someone's dead.

To avoid unnecessary tragedy, I'll donate towards the postage.

It hasn't changed, my daughter went to Copenhagen between Christmas and New Year and couldn't believe the prices, so high they spoiled the trip.

That is a right royal piss take.
However when in York a couple of months ago I was certain the locals had different tariff to the 'tourists'

Yes its crazy, there is the huge Carlsberg brewery right in the middle, and one bar actually had a pipe from the brewery coming through the wall. Still £10 a pint though

    Enjoy, love Amsterdam.
A good bar with cheap prices (3 euros last time there), was Susies saloon, they have happy hours during the day.
A decent, clean bar, bang in the middle should you want to go "elsewhere".
Also have the footy on too.

Not trying to ‘one up’ but when I went to Copenhagen for a weekend it was full of Swedes, when I asked one why they were there they said they come to Denmark to drink because it’s so cheap. After paying £9 a pint I was stunned.

Then I went to Stockholm in October just gone and everywhere I went it was £9 for HALF.

    They only sold halves, Kempton.

Thanks will give it a go. I usually go to the tourist traps like 'old sailor' and one of the bulldogs. But will go with your suggestion.

    I can believe it.
It gets worse as you go further north in Scandanavia too.
    Try Finland and Northern Norway.

My dad was in the merchant navy, and often had a run carrying timber from Scandanavia to Germany.
In Germany they used to fill the ships cabins with bottles of spirits bought in Germany, and sell them in the northern extremes of Scandanavia.
Lets just say the money the crew made from selling booze far outstripped their wages!!!!

Basically roughly from memory walk down from the train station down the main street to Dam square. Turn left until you reach the canals, then turn right.
It is on the same side of the canal as dam square, dont go over the bridge.
