It's the big worry. Sounds very similar to the early Ashley soundbites. She'll be wanting the team to be the best it can be, pound-for-pound... Shame Jonjo scared off all the Saudi mega money investors.
The usual progress being made: Rafa Benitez on transfers Nothing happening with one day until his self-imposed deadline. "We are in the situation. Nothing coming in or going out."
The positive thing is the first bid was £300m total so if that's what Ashley will accept there could be a deal by the end of the season should we survive. On the negative side the interview more or less rules out a bottomless pit of money being thrown at the club should PCP take over.
but Ashley isn’t giving a valuation based on the possible future problems he’s basing it on a PL club. Relegation brought on by his own negligence is a real possibility and isn’t a hidden thing, everyone can see it so the comparison is a poor one. Frankly though I can’t see Ashley taking it or anyone paying top whack until they know if we are staying up so I can’t see any deal until the end of the season at best.
I've always been a bit surprised that no one had tried Leeds earlier. Plenty of history, good crowds for the Championship, cheap as chips, ready to be made into a premiership club again.
Anyone fancy another 50+ pages on Staveley's supposed interest in Leeds? Honestly, I thought it was us she had fallen for?
Good fit. When we go down, they will win the championship next year meaning there’s only one auto place to go for.
