I’ve just bought a pint in a boozer in London.
    Not central London
    Not a tourist hotspot
In fact positively suburban on an overground line
    Normal boozer
Pints, sandwiches, blokes in work gear rolling their own cigs

    £6.05

Six ****ing pounds and five bastard pence!!!!!

Knew the content was going to be something like this...

I’m down there every other week with work staying over in Shoreditch. Admittedly it’s Uber hipster there but it’s not meant to be pricey and £6 a pint - or even worse a bottle - is defo the going rate these days.

It’s a fiver the norm in Leeds city centre.

I've got an apartment booked in Shoreditch next week, I've screwed up and left it too late to grow a big beard.

    I may have to cancel.

Well behind the times, they’ve moved on. The true hipster is now clean shaven and has a sharp side parting - think Mad Men.

Long beards are so 2016 or Proto Hipster...

Don't exaggerate. I've lived in Leeds for about 5 years now and most places still cost about £3.50ish for a pint. Maybe in the toff places you go to.

The only place I went to that was daft was Varsity I think, absolute **** hole and it was a fiver for a pint of san migel.

I’m not exaggerating in the slightest! I haven’t paid that kind of price you quote for years. And I wouldn’t describe anywhere I drink as ‘toff’. Just last week I paid over a fiver for a half pint can of Neck Oil in Belgrave, and that’s as casual as you can get.

What the **** were you doing in Varsity? Are you 19 and wear white Reebok?

Varsity is pretty ****ing bad. Last time I was in there was a few years ago. I don't imagine it's improved all that much though.

Lager is a beer. Of course there is lager and there are abominations like Stella, Fosters, Carling etc...

Avoid Chelsea then, I paid £11 for a pint of lager recently..... haven’t been back.
Actually, I was really mad with myself for paying it, should’ve just walked out the bar!

I was about 25 at time and had 30 mins to kill before the Roxy Ball Room opened across the rerd.

To be fair I just double checked the regular haunts i go to and the average was about £4.20, so it is a bit more expensive than i thought.

EDIT: btw nowt wrong with white trainers.
