It's difficult to get a sense of form this early in the season but I've high hopes for the next six games (so long as we play like we did agaist Hull and second half against West Ham). Ipswich (A) - in dreadful form and have just shipped 7 against Peterborough Crystal Palace (H) - surely has 3 points written all over it? Bristol City (H) - I suspect City may go down this season and this should be a home win. Brighton (A) - very tricky given their form but questions over whether they can maintain it. Poyet is a top manager though. Birmingham (A) - again tricky, although Brum have had a poor start to the season. Score draw maybe. Portsmouth (H) - how are Pompy going to cope now that we've signed their star midfielder (!). They are a better side than last season but we should still win. So I reckon that it wouldn't be asking too much to expect 3 wins and 3 draws as a minimum. Is this being wildly optimistic?
12 points is more than achievable. Hopefully this is where we recover from the iffy start and push ourselves into the Play-Offs in time for the season really kicking in.
I`d go for 7 pts from that lot. Anyone of you 12 pts for definite want a cyber bet? I get up to 9 pts to win, you get 10pts or over for you to win?
The way I am forecasting these days points to 2 home wins and a home draw. 2 draws and a defeat away. 9 points. (less than play off form) So we are likely to get 12
ive give up on trying to predict our results im sure i lost £500 on skybet (glad the wife not on here) I think if we end up with 12 wont be too bad... this season i would sooner hit the front in April.....
12 is realistic. However for a team to be promotion candidates, at some points in the season five or six wins in a row is required to make a decent move in the table. Why not now? Seems as good a time as ny to me
There will be a reaction from Ipswich on Sat, I`ll be happy with a point from that one, think we will lose 2-1 though.
If we can get some consistency especially in defence I see no reason wwhy wecan,t get 12 pointsfrom 6 games
If we are aiming for a top six finish, I'd say that we definately need 12 from 18 available. We have to catch up now, we did it a few years ago on -15 points. Lonergan looking very good. Centre backs need to sort their lives out......they were bossed in the air by West Ham.
12 is realistic, especially if we worked up momentum. I'd be disapointed if we didn't win at Ipswich, Palace, Bristol and Pompy. But the Brighton and Brum away games will be tough.
As Deano said, 12 should be the aim if we're going for promotion. IN fact I can even see 16 there (but that's about the maximum). It's about as easy a run of games as you're going to get in this league.
Well I can see 3 wins in those first 3 games. If we're serious about promotion this is the sort of run we should be taking advantage of.
