You think its okay for a professional football team to go out and throw in the towel against a team of no-hopers!

    No further elaboration required

Couldn't agree more Northy. I think we need a little perspective here.

Until today I had some respect for Warnock for speaking his mind, for better and worse. Not any more.

He's quoted as saying he's not motivated for the Carling Cup and can't blame his players if they're not either. Who does he think he's kidding? And who are these fringe players kidding? So they're not good enough to make the first team but just being a member of an unproven Premier League squad somehow makes them too good to be motivated for the Carling Cup? They should remember that when they're watching United (or whoever) winning it next spring while they're as obscure as they'll always be. Seems more likely they're just not as good as they think they are.

Warnock's comments bring the sport into disrepute far more than a manager complaining about a decision or even (Ferguson) complimenting a ref before a game. He's undermined the integrity of the game and shown a blatant lack of professionalism.

His graceless disrespect of Rochdale shouldn't be forgotten either. Sadly, a few posts on here are just as lacking in that regard.

QPR fans might compare Brendan Rodgers' response to last night's defeat with Warnock's. He made a point of shaking hands with all the Shrewsbury players and complimented them before he started on his own team. He also said that his players had the chance to put their hands up to be picked on Saturday but had effectively put their hands up not to be picked. That's how to approach these games, in terms of attitude and dignified reaction to defeat. Warnock should take note - he sounds like a spoilt child.

I don't think it's about anyone thinking they're "too good" for anything, players or managers.
It's purely to do with priorities

I've just heard Kenny Dalglish being interviewed before Liverpool's CC game at Exeter. Have to say he made NW's comments sound rather tacky. Lots of respect for the competition which I agree with. He's also picked quite a strong side, with Suarez up front!!

Now compare that with COLIN's remarks before a huge game at Wigan. "Our season starts against Newcastle in two weeks time". I know I'm not the only one who finds such statements incredible. I mean what the FU*K is he talking about?? First we had the "we don't want to be in this Competition" on Tuesday night. And last night we have him saying that basically the players he has right now are sh*t and aren't up to the job. Lets wait until Newkie when I'll have proper players in??

Tuesday's performance from the manager was a disgrace, pure and simple. And last nights comments were just downright bizarre. Nelly has done an absolutely amazing job for us and I'm sure will do so for a long time to come. This week however, has easily been his worst since taking up the post and is one to forget.

We put out a much changed side today with no full backs, 4 centre backs and Dave up front. We actually played some decent stuff and hit the woodwork three times. Overall I think Wigan deserved their win but the score flattered them with two deflected goals. Warnock's comment about the season starts from the Newcastle game were made because of our makeshift side today and the fact new players will be available as well as the virus-hit players being fit again. To make stupid comments about throwing the Wigan game is just shyte-stirring, his comments reflected our situation and that we will be in a much stronger position when the next game comes round. Don't let the facts get in the way of having a good rant about nothing...

That's my point!! Why in the name of Christ would you say that to the current players that you're sending out and relying on to get a result? Stop defending the indefensible. COLIN's been conducting himself like a moron all week.

And I never said anything about throwing the Wigan game. Don't let the facts get in the way of having a good rant at me!

He meant "our seasons starts at newcastle" in the sense that everything we should've done pre-season will finally be completed.
Our first home game with new ownership, with a completely revamped side.
The first 3 games will of been played under entirely differenct conditions.
    What's so scandelous about that?

That's not what he meant at all and well you know it. I think he should just put this week behind him and for God's sake try to keep his gob shut in the future. A win on tv against Newkie would be the perfect tonic.

Do you really need to refer to our manager, the best manager we've had in a long time and by far the main reason we're in this division as 'COLIN'?
