That's exactly what happens. Just because VAR has turned up doesn't mean Refs have become robots. He had it in his head that they are conning him by diving due to incessant cheating beforehand. Therefore why the **** should he look when he had that doubt in his head due to their antics?

Well played the ref...I think it's bullshit that they have to be 100% spot on, no matter how conniving a team is in manipulation.

Willian didn't con anybody, there was contact and if the ref had not blown up immediately the var would have proved he made a wrong call. but as it was we won anyway so who really cares?

Did Willian get conned by the ref?

    That's a shame

Morata needs to grow a pair ... he was looking for an easy way out by going down ... should have stayed on his feet and burst the net ... I appreciate that confidence in football is everything and his is low ... but there is only one way to fix that ... heal thyself <ok>

Yep! He has lost all his confidence but some of his off the ball play is decent. As for that useless sack of batshit he has all the control of Lukaku and no nous.

    I agree, Bruv.

On TalkSport, this morning, Alan Brazil and his guest both said it was a dive, too.

Some of the thicker posters on here completely misunderstand the point of VAR.

It’s there to take the heat and flack off the ref. For the first time in the English game, a red can admit, during play, that he didn’t see an incident, and ask to have it reviewed, independently, from a different angle.

It stops cnuts like Wenger and Mourhino accusing match officials of being crooks,

    Cnuts!

... the even thicker ones won't have picked up that Alan Brazil's 'guest' was, in fact, Darren Campbell, Gold medal winning GB Olympian <doh>
