Predictions for 1/09/11

For me the the following will come into fruition by the above date:

Regarding Joey Barton: Joins QPR on 5 year deal

Regarding incomings: Maiga and Pieters, both done on penultimate day of transfer window. Total cost of around 15 million.

Fulham result: 0-0 draw.

If this turns out to be right I will be thoroughly disappointed with the transfer activity but pleased about the 5 points.

If the above transfers happend I would actually be quite satisfied with this window.
I'll wait to see what team is available for Sunday before making a prediction.

 

Barton won't go to QPR, he may leave but don't think he'll go to QPR. Though will he have the balls to stick up to McKay who is trying to force this.

 

I expect all that but i think we'll bring 3 players in and one will be a Tiote-esque player, relatively unheard of and cheap but turn out to be a great bit of business.

 

I'd be happy with those transfers coming in, upset about Joey leaving and not beating Fulham.

I'd like to think that but It looks like we are struggling severely to sign the players that we are being heavily linked with. I think once we do sign a left back and a striker that will be that.

 

1 thing that does worry me. If Joey does join QPR but it doesn't happen until saturday or later, his first game would be against us live on sky. We know how often ex players come back to bite us on the arse, nevemind on there debut against us!!!

 

Incomings:
Situ (in the next few days)
Pieters - £7m-ish - last day of the window
A couple of cheap unknowns at GK and RB, maybe RM

Outgoings:
Barton - Free - Spurs
Simpson - £2.5m - QPR after not committing to a new contract

Vuckic, Perch, Donaldson, Dummett and Ranger to go off on loan (maybe after the window closes)

 

Its actually my birthday on Sep 1st.............I never get what I want.

We sign Cissokho and a striker, but not Maiga.
We beat Fulham 2 - 0

- Barton long gone

- Pieters / Cissokho / Maiga? Not signed

- Bridge brought in on loan a week after the transfer deadline

- Kuqi back as striker. Or some other loanee.


Fulham? Owt...

 

Bridge would be on higher wages than Cissokho or Pieters. Just saying...

 

Newcastle 2 Fulham 0 Barton and Ba. Pieters signed on Friday. Maiga on last day of window

Also you've got to bear in mind that the team at the top would be our team without selling our best players AND with no new signings. Obviously we would still have invested even without the carroll money.
Just on a smaller scale. I reckon Cabaye was always going to be brought in.

I definately prefer the top team.

 

I don't see much difference in quality to be honest. I can't see how we are any weaker than we were this time last year.

Here are the key battles that will allow you to see which team you think is better.

 

My prediction is we win against fulham the reason being I am attending the match and iv never been at a game we have lost! I reckon barton will stay, I actually belive what he said about loyalty and only leaving for champs leaguer, I reckon qpr will offer him a 5 year deal though. I think magia is a cert I can't think of anytimes a player has gone awol to force through a move and it hasn't resulted in what the player wanted, socheaux are just delaying the inveitable like what john connor did in terminator 2.

Pieters I think will come here prds has been to see him and watch him play and he wants to come. I don't think we will sign cissoko though I don't think we will stump up that kind of cash to have a pplayer who will have a shorter career than most.

 

No one else think the world will be taken over by 48 foot long killer cucumbers by 1.9.11 then?
